Bio
Since I was a teenager I've been making short films. I always loved making them but there was something very special about taking the footage into a quiet editing room then placing one shot against another. That's when the magic really happened. And most magical of all was when I would bring MUSIC into these films. Instantly I could see what a powerful effect music had. Though I always had an excellent feel using it in my films for many reasons it would be years before I would compose and bring my own music into them. But when I did it was as if a door was flung open and wondrous, eclectic, powerful music stormed in. Some of my films and videos have been shown at film festivals, one is in the permanent collection at the New York City Public Library. I’ve had two series that were telecast on Manhattan Cable Network. Most recently “TALK FICTION” won first prize for best short narrative at the Westchester International Film & Video Festival. I've also written several unproduced feature length screenplays, produced 3 CDs of my music "Child of the West", “LOST ISLANDS ON AN IMAGINED SEA” and “SONGS FROM A STONE” and was thrilled to have had my music choreographed and danced to on stage.

A review of Breakdownby Bowman5 on 08/10/2009I liked it. A short yet very fine character study. Two people with very different needs and agendas I could see were each one was coming from and though she was at times borderline hysterical I felt her especially as opposed to his cool laid... read

A review of no more a rovin'by Bowman5 on 08/07/2009I honestly didn't get it. I admire your pluck to just do it but you need to have a stronger concept or maybe one more that's more accessible to your audience. I thought you soundtrack of narration and ominous sounds was quite effective. Keep at it. Maybe with more time you'll have something more successful.

A review of L19: Disposedby Bowman5 on 08/07/2009Effective mechanized soundscape. Delightful retro animation. I really felt for the plight of our robot protagonist as he thrashed about desperately holding on for dear inorganic life. But to no avail in such a bleak ending which seemed at odds with our sweet looking sympathetic hero. Well done but a bit of a downer which of course was your intention.

I thought I had left a comment before, but I don't see it, so maybe I'm mistaken, or maybe I sent it as an email. At any rate, wanted to thank you for your review. I am a big fan, most especially of the wonderful "Tracks', and I take to heart comments from those who know their business. Keep on with the great work. I look forward to seeing more.
