Review of: Think About You

Very tight little piece, well edited and shot. Randall Moore shows lots of talent for such a short piece and I would be interested in seeing how he directs a piece with more acting, and some dialog. Wise choice here to avoid such. There is room for more story and developement and a little more substance.

    The priciple idea of distracting the viewer, or controling their attention so intently, they won't wander away or ahead of you is pulled of magnificently in the Hold Up.     When you watch a film that mocks society, pokes fun at people's insecurities and their attempts to deal with them you should laugh, and if mixed with aliens, you will. The shooting style produced a sense of ultra-realism which comfortably fits a mind's idea of what an alien support group would be like: part out-patient re-hab center, part weekend church retreat.     Jessica makes a future demonstrates a fine control of medium and component aspects. DV and non-linear editing have empowered a director who did not make these the focus of the film. Although compression sucked in places, the camera work was strong, with nice use of color and framing. The editing kept it fresh and light hearted with a nice variety of shots and nice choice... read
