Bio
Nick Fuhrman became an aerospace technology expert seeing NASA through the eyes of the US Congress, where he examined the space agency’s budgets each year and made critical recommendations to elected representatives on which space programs to fund. After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1992, Fuhrman became the US House Committee on Science’s staff expert to open space trade and cooperation with Russia, taking him to previously-closed sites and face to face with Russia’s space bosses. Fuhrman traveled extensively to assess and inspect spacecraft manufacturing and launch facilities. In 1998, Fuhrman ran for a seat in the US Congress, exposing himself and his family to weekly small-town parades, rallies, and fundraising dinners that campaigns are made of, under the watchful eye of Washington power-brokers. After losing that campaign, Fuhrman was appointed in 1999 to the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania to run its US democracy assistance office and traveled extensively throughout Romania and inside its government buildings and political life. Throughout his varied career, Fuhrman has written and spoken extensively on issues and technologies of national importance, and has appeared on CNN networks numerous times, explaining space programs, science objectives and engineered systems to general audiences. Raised in Washington, DC Fuhrman had rare access to non-public areas inside the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Capitol, Supreme Court, White House, the Pentagon, and Federal Reserve Bank. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2007, Fuhrman has seen film and TV production up-close on location and on studio lots, performed detailed script coverage for writers, and collaborated with producers and directors.

A review of Halfwayby nickfuhrman on 02/12/2012Halfway has a familiar premise, which makes audiences who love road trip movies expect a lot. The road needs to be bumpy, hilly, dangerous, contradictory, ironic... Halfway is too linear and flat with nary an obstacle in Jeremy's or Max's path. For improving it, consider first Jeremy's conflict at home and make it sharper. He doesn't want to fit his parents' plan for him,... read

A review of Dreams of Summerby nickfuhrman on 02/05/2012Mark my words, this will sell. Congratulations on telling Tucker’s story from the inside-out and building a suspenseful storyline with such depth. It’s hard not to think about other sports screenplays after reading Dreams of Summer but this is a very raw and new for the genre, making it a highly marketable property besides being a powerful story. It’s obvious you went through... read

A review of August Grassby nickfuhrman on 12/14/2011I was excited to see this assignment and read the synopsis, intrigued thinking we're talking the next "Moneyball" here, just set on the gridiron instead of a baseball diamond. Your description of JIM makes me want to see how he translates his Navy SEAL skills/talents to build a winning team, while fending off his enemies and doubters. Unfortunately, AUGUST GRASS lacks structure... read

Nick -- Thanks for your review of "Halfway", your comments are proving to be very helpful during my rewrite. Your review opened my eyes to a few big changes in my screenplay which I am thankful for.

BTW, if you want to ask someone a question or comment on them, it's better to go to their profile page and leave it in their comment box rather than your own. I was following a thread on Nyla and came here to read your review on it.

Nick, I deleted it from my submission page so I could start revisions. I guess that removes everything associated with it. But -- you still have the credit for reviewing it even though the review itself is gone. Look at the top of your page, it should still show you with 4 reviews even though there are only 3 available to read now.

Another suggestion for upping your participation level is to go to the message board and post some comments about various subjects. The more you participate, the higher your own level goes. Also, there's some great free advice on every screenwriting subject. Check it out.
