  When I first began this screenplay, I was concerned when the standard "formula" was followed (as seen in Tootsie and Mrs. Doubtfire): man dresses as woman, other man falls for man dressed as woman, man dressed as woman falls for woman. I was also concerned that the screenplay couldn't decide if it was an action picture or a comedy. There were some moments that "set up" comedy... When I first began this screenplay, I was concerned when the standard "formula" was followed (as seen in Tootsie and Mrs. Doubtfire): man dresses as woman, other man falls for man dressed as woman, man dressed as woman falls for woman. I was also concerned that the screenplay couldn't decide if it was an action picture or a comedy. There were some moments that "set up" comedy potential but didn't deliver (such as when Ryan shimmied thru the vent in his waiter's disguise, when he COULD have shimmied in dressed as his mother with all sorts of problems). HOWEVER... when the REAL Florence arrived on the scene, this story REALLY took off! The comedy and action blended marvellously with the various oddball characters playing off each other. And the ending was even satisfying. I'm going to suggest that if this level of fun could be tweaked into the first part of the story, you'd have a REAL winner, here. Take the "formula" and turn it upside down! Good script, GREAT potential! read

  In order for this concept to work, you need to eliminate many of the stock in trade devices that make this seem like way too many TV cop shows. The grumpy police captain, the partner killed and the cop going it alone. Just get rid of all that. Instead, concentrate on the relationship between Ryan and his mother. Put the mother into the picture much much sooner and in the line... Put the mother into the picture much much sooner and in the line of fire. Try to get Ryan in drag as quickly as possible. Then you have a comedy of mistaken identities, the potential girlfriend will then be able to show Ryan not only what it means to be a woman, but will help to understand what it means to be an older woman with power. There is a lot of potential here. As it is, it is a made for TV movie. Get deep into the character, avoid the cliches and eliminate chat for chat's sake. Also, if you gotta have a chase, block it out. Make it different. read

  I found "A Women's Touch" to be a very nice effort with good dialog, storyline and structure. I think maybe it could be a bit too "cutesy" in spots for me, but only my opinion. The James Bond fight/chase sequences are maybe a bit too "cute" as well...I'm sorry for continuing to use that word, but it is the most descriptive I can think of. Too neat maybe with all the flips... I found "A Women's Touch" to be a very nice effort with good dialog, storyline and structure. Good character development, I actually cared about the characters...I think there could be a bit more about the father, his job as an agent, etc. I have a bit of a problem with the title. Eventhough "A Women's Touch" is the name of the mother's show, Ryan infiltrates disguised as a woman and the way to the "good bad guy" was through his daughter, I'm still not totally convinced that it's the right title for the work....I guess I just put up a pretty good argument to the contrary! read

  This zany romantic comedy is an adventure in serendipities. Enter Ryan Carmichael, his wacked loving Mother Florence Society Hampton, the Gangster loving Father Anton and the beautiful innocent???Angelina. It's a romantic catastrophe. Sure it's a formula script, but hey, sometimes one needs just a little sugarcoated romance. Ryan Carmichael stay away from my closet! I know...   Hide the cucumber! Ho ho! I created that joke specially for this film, as I felt it needed some humour. Might I suggest that Ryan does NOT tell Bishop he's about to go undercover, so there are a team of agents who do NOT realise it's him? Then they start following him, thinking he's connected to Kramer. Plus, Bishop arrives to deal with the complication... and promptly falls... Hide the cucumber! Ho ho! About the same time that Ryan's mother arrives and complicaitons ensue. It would also be big laughs if all the men fell for Ryan as Flossie, paricularly Kramer. Yes, he still wants to marry Angelique, but that's for strictly business reasons... his dick's pointed right at Ryan. And Bishop is feeling certain stirrings... they find out one by one, which is again, big laughs, and then confuse Ryan's mother with him, etc etc. What exactly is the deal Kramer's got going? Could we see some of that please? And how do you spell senorita? Hmm? read
