HOW IT RATES
The story centers on two brothers, Chris (15 years old) and Randy (9). They travel from Boston to the Rocky Mountains in search of their missing father--who disappeared after a freak train accident. The boys make their way by sneaking aboard trains & steamships, and taging along with P.T. Barnum. During the journey they meet up with an old friend of their father's, Elais Walton--an ecentric but brilliant old man who intoduces them to an America they've only read about in books. All the while, they are relentlessly pursued by a mysterious character known only as "the Crooked Man." The boys start their trip looking for answers but end up having the greatest andventure two kids could ever have, and they grow up a little along the way.
