  It was the idea that flatens out the interest ... it has the makings of a good TV show or maybe series... but lacks on character arch and real interest in caring about them... Need lots and lots and lots of re-writes before showing it to the world of negative readers and wanna-be screen hacks.

  I think you take an interesting idea (time capsule, old mystery, haunted police officer) and you just don't spice it up enough. I wanted the mystery to be more mysterious. Put the cop in some danger investigating this--Craig has to have more at stake because there just isn't enough right now to sustain interest.. I would have also like snappier dialog. You have lots of current cultural references that would really date this movie quickly. Why is Craig a drunk? What from his past could intersect with the plot? What if Joann had tried to kill her father and accidentally killed Jenny? Does Craig tell the world his wife killed someone. Whatever you decide to do, this just has to be more interesting! I think you have the germ of a really interesting story here. I encourage you to rewrite and heighten the mystery, danger and the stakes. You could be on your way then to a pretty interesting movie. read

  Pop culture references as nuts and bolts dialogue is tired and done. Quentin strted it with Resevoir Dogs ten years ago. Let it go. No more Star Wars references. Write your own interesting ideas. This could use a rewrite or two. The concept is interesting as are the characters, but it isn't compelling stuff or even cocnsistently interesting. Police procedure needs further research... Half the time, the seriosness of the stakes got lost in the wise ass, grab assing mentality of the characters. There's room for comedic moments in thrillers but the balance gets thrown out of whack when it happens as much as it does here. Take your story a little more seriously and I'd read a rewrite. read

  Although the premise is good, the story drages and does not have the punch to carry it further than mid way. What if the time capsule was burried 40 or 60 years earlier and an older man discovers basicly the same. I think both of you need to go back and try again. You need a stronger punch for such a good idea.

  The time capsule idea is interesting, but the ensuing mystery doesn't quite ignite for me. I haven't any specifc suggestions except that the 'cop show' exchange between Craig, Rob and Dave seems too contrived and rather dull. The whole piece just felt rather pedestrian - a bit too careful. Take the pace up a gear. - And the dynamic between Craig and his wife sounded more... The time capsule idea is interesting, but the ensuing mystery doesn't quite ignite for me.   The story is too formulaic, like a movie of the week. It started ok but became predictable soon after. Too many flashbacks become distracting. The ending doesn't work, with several revelations taking the impact away from each other. The side stories work - Craig and Joanne's troubled marriage; Katherine; Craig's alcoholism. Well written but lacks punch.

  The writer has some ability but the story didn't get me fired up. I like the idea of uncovering a time capsule planted by friends in the eighties, and I can see this type of event happening in towns across America however, I was disappointed with the somber mood of the scipt. Made for a difficult read because of the concept, which was good, but just not for me.
