  I liked the concept of looking closer at something that you see everyday without really noticing it, and I was relieved when it got to the point of actually telling a story about the genesis of the subject, but for me, the rest of it just tried too hard to get my attention, and in a silly way that added nothing and took away from the film. I liked the use of the still pictures,... I liked the use of the still pictures, but in the end, the film attempted a kitchen sink approach that made it difficult to hang with. I would have preferred a more serious approach. read

  You're mental. The films you make are made in your institute and when on day release with your carers. I enjoyed this one. It has humour and some good editing (the trip in the street was excellent). As usual it's Elmer (every single time I write your name I write Elmar - and have to correct it, weird) talking to us about something of interest to him. This film is about a cemetery... This film is about a cemetery and preserved fish and has a catchy tune thrown in. Definitely one of your better ones I think but what do I know? See you again soon Elmar! read

  Very irritating

  I was tempted to remove this assignment because I had just moments before reviewed an Elmer Lang piece. I wish I had removed it. This is a look at a bizarre item on a cemetary plaque. I do not believe that the way it was put together in any way, shape or form made this interesting. For me, the presentation made it totally aggravating. Some decent music to build up tension... I was tempted to remove this assignment because I had just moments before reviewed an Elmer Lang piece. I wish I had removed it.
  
  This is a look at a bizarre item on a cemetary plaque. I do not believe that the way it was put together in any way, shape or form made this interesting. For me, the presentation made it totally aggravating.
  
  Some decent music to build up tension would have helped, the removal of the pointless "singing" would have been good too, and eliminating most of the images of the author would also have been good. Just a plain, overvoice would have worked fine, telling the story in a normal way.
  
  The little snippets of images were good. The kernel of the story was good. It was just such an irritating way to present it that was it's downfall, in my opinion.

  Anybody who enjoys being educated and entertained all at the same time should follow the style set by this film. The opening was a little misdirected at first but the self-made soundtrack somehow kept me watching. The finished product was entertaining, insightful and presented with a very unique style that I personally found strangely catchy. This format would make a great... Anybody who enjoys being educated and entertained all at the same time should follow the style set by this film.

  This format would make a great series of factual videos which make oddities like this historic landmark in to accessible history. read

  Some things are just not worth figuring out and Preserved Fish is probably one of them. Or maybe we should add Archer or Fletcher or Carpenter to the list of things to figure out. You need to create does not mean you create a need - a need to make any comment that hits you. I've enjoyed many of your flicks. Some not so much. This is one of them.

  Well, I’ve had two assignments so far and they’ve both been Elerlang films - weird. The first, Off the Cliff, I enjoyed and I would recommend checking it out over this one. I found this one a little repetitive and long but still interesting in it own right. It could have been edited to 3/4 it’s current length and I think it would have worked better.   Very cool story! I love these little city facts, which may seem unimportant but say a lot about the city a person lives in. I liked the set-up you used, of first showing your own surprise at this very weird name and how you found out about him... and then used pictures to illustrate the man's look and environment.   For me, the one thing that I would have done different is the pace. I would have allocated more time to the actual story and to the city of New York than to your surprise at his name. For me, the best shots showing your suprise were the repeated shots in which you read the plaque on the cemetery and I would have kept it at those... these were to the point and well done. In the same reasonement I would have given more time to show the city of NY you talked about in the beginning of the story, and maybe shown some places were PreserVED Fish would have spend his time... but then in the modern age. read

  I lov this dude!!! I dont know know where this film is going but i can wait to find out:)The world need filmmakers like Elmerlang. When i watch his work i dont know what to expect and that's the beauty of it. Its like watching a visual roller coaster of creepy fun. Thanks for sharing. and please i want more!!!!

I know the title is 'You'll Figure It Out' but please tell me there is no shred of truth to this Preserved Fish madness. :) I'm hesitant to google it only to come up empty handed and learn that I'm an idiot for even google'ing it. Three for three. Still digging the style. Although it's no big secret by now. I saw that your participation level is at... HA HA! Come on, Elmer. I know the title is 'You'll Figure It Out' but please tell me there is no shred of truth to this Preserved Fish madness. :) I'm hesitant to google it only to come up empty handed and learn that I'm an idiot for even google'ing it.

  I saw that your participation level is at 0 which leads me to believe you're busy on new projects or have been around the Triggerstreet block too many times and now only pop your head in occasionally to see what the newbies are doing.

  This film contains what it should contain. The title is connected to the film since it’s about the streets of New York and how there are many secret places around the city. Furthermore the title and the short films give us viewer idea that if we look around, we could see unusual things in our world. The film fitted to its genre, which is comedy. This short film was able to... This film contains what it should contain. The title is connected to the film since it’s about the streets of New York and how there are many secret places around the city. Furthermore the title and the short films give us viewer idea that if we look around, we could see unusual things in our world.
  
  The film fitted to its genre, which is comedy. This short film was able to provide laughter by singing, acting, random clips or pictures, and the fact that the voice was getting adjusted instead of staying in a normal talking tone. In addition the song is actually catchy. These strategies successfully pulled interest in my point of view.
  
  From the start to the end is good since there is no part that is not connected with the story line. The first seconds of the film was well constructed. I like how it started off with the sound, and then a fading in first scene of the story. Transitions are quite good. The actor is good at acting and narrating the story. The ending of the story is good because the film showed a person’s view who took time to a certain spot, learn about that spot and then eventually moved on and resumed his journey.
  
  Overall, I believe the film was done quite well since it was a linear story. There was too much shaking on the beginning. Perhaps you could have slowed the speed when the camera was moving. Even this film was short, It is nice to watch when you need a good laugh. read
