  Wow what a professional job! I thought it was brilliantly filmed, and I was a little sad when it ended. I could see myself coming out of a theatre after 2hrs and saying what a great film it had been. The acting was first rate and the characters believable, and not over the top, which it easily could have gone. A very enjoyable film to watch.

  I really liked this. Nice plot, enough of it to fill the timeslot, and not in any way too much either. The cinematography and editing held a high class throughout and the sound quality, an area where which is the fall of too many independent films, was pretty damn good. The only things I would complain about (and I do feel a little bit petty for pointing them out) is the soundeffect... I really liked this.   The only things I would complain about (and I do feel a little bit petty for pointing them out) is the soundeffect for the body falling after the first guy got shot. And secondly, the cocking of the shotgun showed the gun, and thus made it clear that it was fake, as no used shell popped out of it.. This could have been fixed with CG or a simple camera trick..
  However, like I said, these were minor things.
  The all in all impression I had when watching this was "Good work!"

  The action and suspense in this is terrific. No doubt you have a future in that field if you really want to go for one. All the little nuances, the subtleties, the pacing in between the big bang moments are there, meticulously framed, shot, timed and edited. Acting was good, however narration was not so good.   Acting was good, however narration was not so good. Frequently I couldn't make out what was being said, so that's a problem of either enunciation or recording. Sometimes the music pounded too much over the dialogue, although the music mostly was very good.
  
  My main criticism is of the plot. It's too cliched, too familiar. We've seen these characters over and over again, the situations over and over again. It's true they are dramatic and that's what fixes the audience attention every time, but it would have given this film just that extra spark of genius to have told a more unique story with more unique characters. read

  This film reminded me strongly of, "The Usual Suspects"; in it's use of the camera and the choice of music. I thought the storyline was clear and that the film was very well edited. Visually, it was excellent. I thought that honing in on the action rather than the background, added a gritty feel and raised the tension, especially in the night scenes and that the lighting...   I liked the opening quote, but didn't understand its relationship to the story.
  
  For me, the beginning scene (the beating) went on too long. The point was made quite quickly. The extra punches didn't add to the perception of brutality.
  
  When Scott shoots his partner, I would have liked to see the body fall. It would have given the murder more power, instead of the slow fade that it had.
  
  The acting was uneven. Some parts were awesome, but others didn't ring true. The more the scene called for emotion, the better the acting got.
  
  All and all, I enjoyed it very much and was very impressed. Good work! read

  The filmmaking here is incredible. As far as talent is concerned, this filmmaker has the most in this current festival (of all the films I've seen). The directing is incredible. The cinematography is incredible. The sound, sound editing, and editing is incredible. The acting is great. This feels like a real film from a real filmmaker. And it is. My only complaints would...   My only complaints would be that, like so many other filmmakers trying to get noticed, this filmmaker tries to pack too big of a story into too small of a film. Or if not a small film, one with a short running time. Considering, it actually works pretty well, although most of the story is pretty much lifted from every great crime film that has been made in the last 10 or so years.
  
  Regardless, this is an incredible piece of filmmaking and should serve as a perfect calling card. Good luck in the festival! read

  This was a very well done short film. The acting was good. The cinematography was good. The editing was perfectly on key. I think you achieved exactly what you were looking for. This really isn't my type of film, but it kept my attention the whole time. And nice choice of music at the end. Great job.

  Intense emotion builds in this fast-action, slick edit flick. Dynamic performances, excluding the voice-over that seemed a little monotonous. The script dialogue seeming somewhat simple within a complex concept, but the action backed it up nicely. So did the edit and soundtrack, very powerful . Overall this film showcased a slick production. A lot of shaky footage in this... Intense emotion builds in this fast-action, slick edit flick.   A lot of shaky footage in this came across highly creative in edit, but not my personal favorite style. On this small compression it views awesome, but on a large screen I wondered if it would have felt motion-sickness (although seeming to be the mood we’re going for). Otherwise, the cinematography was nice, intriguing compositions. The shots of all the gun play were incredible to the senses. I was surprised the boss didn’t grab the gun held that close to him, but good for the sake of the story that he didn’t.
  
  The ending is powerful, and it gained my curiosity, but I could not determine the outcome. I got the sense with that last click, that the silent compromise he wanted didn’t happen. I watched that very ending several times – did he say he would like to think it was ‘just the two of us’ in the room that day? Did a third party come in? I almost thought the click was the lighter again. Either way, I got the impression his idea of not being the one to argue, meant finishing it. read

  Everything about this production was pretty solid. From the camera, to the directing, to the editing. The only problem was the script. It felt like a derivative of several other heist films most notably reservoir dogs. But, a more original idea can come with time. Armistice is an encouraging piece of work. Nicely done.

  Great make up, nicely built tension, interesting sound, good looking cinematography, very nicely put together, and some great fast editing makes this short a cut above many others. Even though this isn't my type of short, it is still very polished and I can appreiciate the amount of work that must have gone on in this. Well done.

  When does an assignment review become an enjoyable movie watching experience? Armistice. Great script, great acting, great direction. The action was clean. When the protagonist takes the weapon and gains control... that was slick. Out of the amateur market and into the proffesional. Very good, nay, excellent. Well done. Good luck in the festival, DJ...
