  I think you captured the bedlam of India very well with the film. However, as a viewer, it was difficult to keep up with the progression of the concept. The narrations need to be slower, so that the viewer can contemplate meaning. The words cannot be rushed. Also, I was confused about how the mans realization of his own relationship came about. Good use of visuals! Images... I think you captured the bedlam of India very well with the film.

  There were some really great visuals in this piece, as somebody who doesn't get out of his room much, it was a real pleasure to view the images of this filmmaker's travels. The editing was superb and the audio nicely done. That said, I wasn't too crazy about the narration, it seemed a bit precious and academic, and I would say your last line will change when you've lived a...   The image flashes move too quickly to provide the full effect. I like the poetry, but I feel that you may be better off here with straight documentary commentary. This is a powerful piece of work. Your images tell your story in a way that words can not. I'd recommend leaving out the man and woman in bed. It takes away from your focal point and adds little to the film.

  Apart from the amateurish-sounding voice over, the writing in this film was really good and the images were very powerful. This film was very effective at making me appreciate the beauty of life in America. The gore in this film was not my cup of tea. I guess I'm just too vapid for this sort of film. Still, it's point was well made.

  According to the synopsis and production notes, I enjoyed this short film because it seemed to have birthed itself. I love that aspect of filmmaking.I think that Thomas Dunn did an excellent job of capturing a piece of the culture and people of India. His ability to weave those images together with a story that parallels our own relatioship as a country to India is brilliant... It reminded me that there can at times, as an American, be a seperation between oursleves and the rest of the world. I think that it is birthed out of our ignorance and arrogance in acknowledging a world outside ourselves. Of course I don't mean everyone but that seems to be the general overview.I did not find an inherent beauty in the images that I saw but rather in the people an their culture. It also made my heart sad. Overall it is a well-done short. read

  The good fortune of listening to a poet reading his own poem, with the intonations, pace and dramatic pauses he feels should be applied is, indeed, a privilege.For his own images to be superimposed upon all of this gives a depth and meaning which lend tremendous weight to the whole poem.I felt that both the poem´s content and Mr. Dunn´s reading were highly dramatic and thought...   I also wander around and collect visula with my camera at hand and then try to assemble them in a meaningful way. That is how I felt you have done it. The thing that I don't do is narration and after watching your film I found it is better with the narration. Still at times I didn't like the tone of the narration and attributing sometimes too western meanings.

  Having a very good photography, Bengali Chain will capture your attention by the powerful association of images and the spoken word ... it relates the culture background of India with a feeling of despair and criticism ... I watched using Real Media, and definitely, tvideo streaming damages this short very much ... it should be vieewed without those loading interruptions .....   When your able to capture poverty and desperation it is the must gut wrenching experience, espically when we exprience feedom and everything that we take for granted on a daily basis. This film captured it well, but also did a lot more, it took the idea further by comparing it to the couple in the bed, who in my opinion represnts all of us that live in a somewhat free soceity... This film captured it well, but also did a lot more, it took the idea further by comparing it to the couple in the bed, who in my opinion represnts all of us that live in a somewhat free soceity and I thought this was cleverly put.The poem was beautfiul with some wonderful lines that summed up the images well but alyays kept you watching. The length was perfect, it kept me watching long enough and ended very well.The camera shot were good, but the editing was very nice, I enjoyed many of the cuts and felt the film ran very nicely. All in all a good film. read

  It was good in a sense that it brought some views that were not really seen in other docus, although its poorly shot and the structure is not so stronge, its good effort, although the director has failed to view the beauty of those countries aswell, insted of the tiresome poverty views.
