  I have to say, I didn't expect this short to go in such a creepy direction. I really liked the scratched look of it, you successfully replicated something might have come from the 1920s. Then, I thought it was really a really cute, Christmas-y little story for a little while. Great work on the present opening and the animal stampede (especially the confused little elephant)...   THEN, I was wondering how to politely tell you that those two doll twins were unintentionally creepy, and undermining the charming dream sequence you had going. But that might not have been so unintentional, because THEN...
  
  I don't know. I'll just say, that baby doll with the detached arm isn't just going to be in Adeline's nightmares today. So thanks for that, I suppose.
  
  It was a memorable flick, impressively capturing the silent era, with some impressive stop motion. Good job! read

  This film was unique, which gave it a lot of appeal. It almost reminded me of a Bunuel type surrealist film. There was also hints of the old black and white Dickens' Christmas Carol films. Although there may have been a problem with the sound, because I couldn't hear things too well, or maybe there was no sound. Otherwise, it was interesting to watch.

  They did a good job with the stop motion animation. Not sure if this was an old black and white 8mm movie or just made to look like it. Music would have added to the short. Just being silent made it feel incomplete. Otherwise good job. Had a good magical Christmas feel to it.

  Maybe I wasn't paying attention enough, but I'm not really sure I understood this one. It was cool how you used stop motion and dolls as the main characters, and even the way you colored the film was very cool. I think adding music might add something nice to the film, maybe a creepy piece. Anyway, the story could be a bit clearer, but the nonetheless good work.

  This short, Christmas Compunction is a really well done piece of animated work done with the use of dolls. The look of this film is solid, the editing is on point, and puppet work with the dolls within weaved very well. Overall, an awesomely creative short. I look forward to seeing more work from this director. All the best!

  I thought this was pretty good. The dialogue text at the beginning should have been left a little longer to allow the viewer to read it in a relax state. A nice job was done with the "animation". For props, it appeared you used what you had; smart move. You were able to "tell" a complete story in a short amount of time.

  This is one creepy film. I thought the visual was very well executed. Reminded me of David Lynch's early films. I was a bit disappointed with the story though. After watching the film, if I was asked by someone about what I had seen I never would have come up with what the synopsis says, and I believe that's a problem.   It definitely ended well though. I'm assuming that it's the brother who comes out at the end, and the creepy hands climbing up the girl, and eventually covering her POV shot was a really nice touch.
  
  I'd be interested to see more films made this way from you if they had a more clear story. I understand that without dialog things tend to be a bit more abstract, but developing more of a narrative would be great to see.

  This short is well constructed and perfected in shots. It clearly conveys the fear she feels while she dreams about Christmas gifts she receives. I liked the animation but I felt the story could have grown more emotionally if it was not animated and was with real actors. In whole, a very well animated short which brings out the fear of the protagonist clearly.

  A tale of sibling rivalry or Santa's revenge? I have no idea, but the necklace of teeth on the male doll was sufficiently creepy. Sometimes I think filmmakers put stuff out there like this just to test their audience; which is unfortunate as I like a film to have a modestly decipherable message or theme. Without the description telling me this is a little girl's nightmare... A tale of sibling rivalry or Santa's revenge? I have no idea, but the necklace of teeth on the male doll was sufficiently creepy.
  
  Sometimes I think filmmakers put stuff out there like this just to test their audience; which is unfortunate as I like a film to have a modestly decipherable message or theme. Without the description telling me this is a little girl's nightmare about being mean to her brother, I wouldn't even have a basis for understanding it.
  
  Regardless, I watched it four times and was unable to infer any meaning from this very short black & white film with no sound.
  
  My best guess is that if you're naughty, Santa will bring you stop motion elephant statues, armless little boys, and a pair of shirtless elves that disappear.
  
  I guess I'll try and be nice this year. read

  Wow, well I have to admit I don't really have a lot of experience or knowledge of this particular style of filmmaking so forgive me for not giving as much constructive feedback as you may have liked. Well, the 'nightmare' turned out to actually be quite creepy towards the end so if this was the desired effect then well done :) Maybe the difference between reality and the nightmare...
