  Fantastic and simplistic. This short is flawless. The execution was dead on and the direction seemed effortless. You know, it doesn't surprise me you guys made it to the finals here on the site and there's really no critique that I can possible give. Very well done - the directing, the editing, the script, etc. get rave reviews in my book. Good job.

  This man wants anonymity -- for himself and for any girl who’s behind the glass. When this anonymity is broken, the man desperately becomes “himself.” Things must be explained. Things must be “set right.” The cuts to shots of him outside are, of course, showing how he will (impatiently, painfully) wait until his ex-babysitter returns from her break, so he can continue to... This man wants anonymity -- for himself and for any girl who’s behind the glass. When this anonymity is broken, the man desperately becomes “himself.” Things must be explained. Things must be “set right.” The cuts to shots of him outside are, of course, showing how he will (impatiently, painfully) wait until his ex-babysitter returns from her break, so he can continue to try to repair the situation. Because, above all else, he is “not like this;” he “doesn’t do this sort of thing.”
  
  This character’s dire need to “clear his name” -- despite obviously being a peep-show junkie -- even to a girl he will probably never see again -- is the strength of the story. In one man’s last moment of contact with this girl -- while he’s still face-to-face, he must restore his human dignity.
  
  Conversely, the humorous interaction in the beginning, with the contrarian and dismissive attitude of the girl, is a good thematic statement of the absurdity of the peep-show as a ritualized business with built-in expectations. This film, in such a brief amount of time, with such outstanding performances, attains the aspiration of the story. read

  This film shows real talent. A gritty peep at the peepshow world. The ending is what really clinched it for me. Very real, without being a spoiler. Bambi was played witht he complexity of a girl who didn't really want to be there. She carried the part off well, I love when the guy in the trucker hat comes in to clean off rthe remains of the last customer. He tapes something... This film shows real talent. He tapes something to the money slot and you could use a close up of that. I imagine it's the name of the girl. That's my only suggestion, that and get this kid an agent he 's going places. read

  A well written, well acted piece of work. At first I kept thinking that the glass wouldn't be a clear window but a two way mirror deal, but that was in fact the case. Also I was left wondering what the clean up guy taped on where the dollar bills goes. I didn't quiet get the motivation for the editing towards the end. The shots of him outside, smoking a cigarette. It felt like... A well written, well acted piece of work. At first I kept thinking that the glass wouldn't be a clear window but a two way mirror deal, but that was in fact the case.   After watching your film I realized you have a good grasp on the visual and the audio. The film had a very profesional look and sound to it. The music was also great, very minimal but affective. I felt that the lighting was also very well done. In such a small space it intrigued me as to how much you actually lit and what was natural light. The acting was also very good... I felt that the lighting was also very well done. In such a small space it intrigued me as to how much you actually lit and what was natural light. The acting was also very good. It is nice to see a film student using actors that are older than 22. It gives a great amount of depth to the performance. One thing I had trouble with this film, was that it felt a little staged toward the middle to the end. It felt like when the main male character decided he knew this girl, that he had to explain, in a ludicrus fashion, how he knew her. It felt under-rehearsed. Also, what made it a little unrealistic, is how he rected after he had decided he did not want the girl to know who he was. The girl also seemed a little overacted in her reaction to the man saying he knew her. The film also got a little slow. It takes place in one small room. The dialogue I felt should have been a little more intrigueing. I liked the occasional wit, but didn't find it funny enough to actual care.
  Other than those two things, I think the film was great. read

  When one watches this movie, he/she realizes that reality is staring in the face of fantasy. But what happens when two people watch, a couple perhaps. Yes, I admit to watching this short with my lover. We looked at each other and agreed, the writer of this movie is quite clever in his portrait of a peep show junkie. This movie is not about the sex that we enjoy, not the... When one watches this movie, he/she realizes that reality is staring in the face of fantasy. But what happens when two people watch, a couple perhaps. Yes, I admit to watching this short with my lover. We looked at each other and agreed, the writer of this movie is quite clever in his portrait of a peep show junkie. This movie is not about the sex that we enjoy, not the lust for the naked body. Instead it is the desire to change the status quo - the family, the home, the 9-5 job and pleasing the boss. To change what we can and fantasize what we cannot have. Surely, the protagonist of this story can never cheat on his wife. But he fantasizes about the baby sitter. The baby sitter is only a symbol of things he cannot have in his real life. This is one of the best short films that I have seen in a long time. read

  Excellent story and acting. The girl's actions where always suprising and kept me on the edge. The excellent story, dialogue and acting really put this film to a different level. The cinematography was good and I really enjoyed the way the light would illuminate the face once the curtain would rise. It really had some kind of subliminal effect or symbol. Overall, the direction... Excellent story and acting. The girl's actions where always suprising and kept me on the edge.   It was a fantastically well delivered short, very captivating, music worked well. I was pulled in... Not origional though, I have a feeling that this is a cut down version of the origional stage play...did you get an option to do the film?? If you did , good opertunity to extend to a longer, even feature, film. The end felt a little rushed and confused me a little...I know...   I thought the opening credits were very nice. I loved the acting. The story was fascinating. The pacing was excellent. The ending was good but not wow. But it did make me wonder. Did he really know the first girl? Overall I was drawn to the story and enjoyed every minute of it. I think this group has true talent.   Confessions of a peepshow junkie is a very well accomplished short film. Though technically quite basic, it is effective and well crafted so it is not suprising to see it in the festival. What made this film though wasn't the technique, but the performances of a very able cast and under the control of a director who understands performance perfectly. As this was adapted from... What made this film though wasn't the technique, but the performances of a very able cast and under the control of a director who understands performance perfectly. As this was adapted from a stage play I don't really want to comment on the story or scripting, but the casting was top notch I believed every moment, which flew by keeping my attention all the way through. The only bug bear I have is the opening credits, they were very well animated but a bit much for this simple story of two people connecting through a piece of, ehm, "stained" glass. The set was spot on, if this was built specially then my hat come off to you, if it was a real peep show booth then great location scouting! One of the best shorts in the festival by far.
