  This must have been a lot of fun to film and put together. The choreography of the fight scene was pretty good. The choice of angles were particularly effective for the inside silliness with the beer tray. Outside was less effective. It did look a little like they were just knocking the cricket bats against each other. As a concept it was fine....but think would benefit...   As a concept it was fine....but think would benefit from being shorter. I would suggest losing the padding at the start. Just start with the fighting and move it along as quickly as you can. There's no real story here, so there's no need to have a set up that makes this appear as a computer game.
  
  Very silly and mildly enjoyable film that would benefit from a trim. read

  This seemed more like a version of street fighter or mortal kombat via an x-box. I guess with this short "It is what it is" and that's that. I did like the graphics used for this short but unfortunately this short loss my attention very early on. Good luck to you in making more films and congrats for bringing your vision to the internet screen.

  Cricket Plight I’d rather see bugs (crickets) fighting, than seeing you hit each other. It might be interesting if you look at it through the eye of a pg13 movie, if you look at it as an experiment for an action sequence for a greater scheme of “whatever”. But this on its own didn’t hold itself, and it wasn’t the violent frenzy that we’re all secretly looking for... Cricket Plight

I felt let down by the lack of plot, and the Nintendo score. Add on some sort of set up conversation next time I think if you grab your audience you’ll have a better turn out. Also, I would definitely purchase a tripod. read

  The problem with the film is in the Synopsis. After two views, there's no reason for the fight. While it's well choreographed, and well performed (to the credit of the filmmaker and performers), it's ultimately pointless and only marginally humorous. The first 1/4 of the film is spent on A LONG set of introductory shots of the old men and of the players. However, this introduction... The problem with the film is in the Synopsis. While it's well choreographed, and well performed (to the credit of the filmmaker and performers), it's ultimately pointless and only marginally humorous. The first 1/4 of the film is spent on A LONG set of introductory shots of the old men and of the players. However, this introduction doesn't set-up a reason for the fight OR anything that would help the ending pay-off. The film feels like it's in the middle of a road, and the filmmakers couldn't decide which path to take. On the one hand, the absurdism of the piece could've made for an interesting art film (especially if the ending had been set-up in the beginning). However, it isn't absurdist enough--and instead falls in for some well-executed fight-movie cliches. On the other hand, those fight-movie cliches ALSO aren't pushed far enough, or highlighted. Ultimately, it's a problem of story--there is no set-up for the action and this makes it difficult to watch. The closest cousin to this is 'Battale Royale' (a Japanese film about children who must fight to the death because of a government edict). BR, however, has many points going for it--and also has a set-up that helps drive the action to a pointed conclusion. This film doesn't. It's too bad--the action is so well done that it deserves to be highlighted by a better story. read

  Overall a good fun & surreal/silly film. Perhaps it ran just a little long for my taste, but the fighting choreography was excellent in places. Sometimes the POV hits needed to be speeded up a little (they looked like they were being held back a little too much), but I'm perhaps being picky. I like the way the fight was totally unexplained or setup... no reason given or... Overall a good fun & surreal/silly film.   I like the way the fight was totally unexplained or setup... no reason given or needed. In its way, it's a surreal commentary on the pointlessness of a cricket match, but I'm not sure if the makers intended any such deliberate meaning. Overall silly, but well done! read

  Yeah I found this too be a quite random semi-poorly choreographed fight between cricket players in some sort of real life video game. Cant say I can name one thing I liked about it, but I guess you cant really be let down by a movie that delivers on what it says it is.

  The short film CRICKET FIGHT reminded me a little of a video game. It is nice to look at and the fight scenes are well choreographed. The direction for the most part was good with the exception of (for me anyway) at the beginning, after the players are introduced, it starts to go through them again before cutting outside, then comes back in again, which felt a bit awkward,... Also, after the first player is out, he disappears, and I think the others as they go should disappear too. Other than that I enjoyed the film. Of course, this just my opinion, and I could be completely wrong :) Good luck! read

  This was really funny and creative with the Kung Fu flair. I loved the music and the handsome men. I also appreciated the complex fight scenes - although a couple looked more hokey and over dramatized than others, there were still some great scenes. The two older gentlemen with beer watching the cricket fights were priceless. That just made me smile more. The black and white... This was really funny and creative with the Kung Fu flair. The ending, with the spray of blood and a triumphant grin, made the movie worthwhile. It was a smile from start to finish.

  Cricket fight indeed??? The whole introduction of the players was way too long and dragged out. The fight was surely fun to film just too tedious to watch. Surely somehow it might be good to let the viewer know what it all about. The light and camera work is fine it is just that JIMINY WHAT?

  the widescreen images look great as this short starts and the action seems to pick up right away, but this also happens to be the problem. once the initial shots and scenes are over, we are treated to a nicely cut introduction to all the core players, but then it takes a few moments for anything else to happen. this is only a minor complaint though, for once the fight starts... the widescreen images look great as this short starts and the action seems to pick up right away, but this also happens to be the problem. once the initial shots and scenes are over, we are treated to a nicely cut introduction to all the core players, but then it takes a few moments for anything else to happen. this is only a minor complaint though, for once the fight starts the film picks up steam and doesn't let you go until the screen goes to black. read
