  i think you know i am not a fan of your work. in fact, i am not interested in any of it, whatsoever. but sir, this piece was a touching piece of art. it was beautiful, heartfelt, and very moving. and i think many can relate to it. i'm glad i viewed it. thank you.

  Another great short by one of TSs most prolific and talented writer/producer/directors. Elmer once again shares some of his deepest personal memories with us and we should feel honored to be included. The story of a lost friend Loomis joins my favorites here on the site. And the score was wonderful. Loomis lives.

  Most who have lost someone close to them will be able to powerfully relate to the feelings you discuss in the days after Loomis' death. The sense of loneliness, helplessness, of being separated from people going on their way through life... especially during the holidays. This film is a fitting tribute to your friend.

  This was a nice way to say good bye and pay tribute to a loved one. I really got the sense this was someone who was very close to you. I don't know if including the idea of his soul being present in your room while you masturbate was completely necessary, but that's Elmer Lang style.   A true pleasure to watch your work. I had some sound issues so I went and watched your film right off your site, without troubles. Dead Loomis gives you a feeling of wishing we all had a friend like Elmer in our lives. All the technicals were as professional as can be expected from a master. The story line took a rather lively look at a friendship that has past or at least... A true pleasure to watch your work.   Out of no where I was rolling with laughter during your personal moment in the bedroom with your thoughts. That was a total break from the normal. Stand up applause for the perfect insert.
  
  The honesty your film has with humor is a brilliant piece of work and dedication.
  
  This film not only drew my undivided attention, it captured my emotions as it played out.

  This is a tender short Docu-drama that is a beautifully constructed love letter to a best friend whose passing quite obviously shook all those involved. Though Loomis himself sings his way through the film from beyond the grave it is Elmer's perspective that gives the audience a sense of "knowing" the man. Heartfelt and poignant this is an excellent piece of emotive film making... This is a tender short Docu-drama that is a beautifully constructed love letter to a best friend whose passing quite obviously shook all those involved. Though Loomis himself sings his way through the film from beyond the grave it is Elmer's perspective that gives the audience a sense of "knowing" the man. Heartfelt and poignant this is an excellent piece of emotive film making. Best of luck in the festival, and I hope this holiday is a happier one. read

  Interesting piece. It plays more like a documentary, than a mainstream film, but it's put together really well. The voiceover needed to be post-produced a little more to match the rest of the sound levels, but it worked well. I liked the use of photos, but would have liked to have seen more real footage among these. I think you got something here. Keep up the good work!

  An usual film, but one with very noble intentions-honouring and remembering a friend who has passed. It's an extremely tricky thing to do, but I think you have trod the line between sentiment and story quite well, although a little more about Loomis' personality and the impact he had on your life would have been welcome.   A much better short then my initial review, but thats all due to the fact that through realplayer there was no audio. Suffice to say glad I tried it in QT format, because this short was largely about audio fidelity. The piece seemed as though could of been shortened a bit, with no loss to its over all montage of imagery and audio. Super job on the audio btw. Not that the...   Super job on the audio btw. Not that the video quality was lacking. I liked the use of seasons and the inevitable continuance of time. I almost wonder if the piece may of been more powerful done in B&W with some portions highlighted in color in particular those portions with loomis. All in all nice work. read

  This is more of an homage than anything else. I've been there, I know the pain, and Elmer gets that across effectively. The energy of Loomis hanging around his room, eventually fading, is a very real feeling. The footage was a nice mix of live action and still frames, with a clever overlay or two. I sympathize with Elmer, losing a fellow musician leaves a whole you really... This is more of an homage than anything else. I've been there, I know the pain, and Elmer gets that across effectively. The energy of Loomis hanging around his room, eventually fading, is a very real feeling. The footage was a nice mix of live action and still frames, with a clever overlay or two. I sympathize with Elmer, losing a fellow musician leaves a whole you really can't ever fill in. Nice piece, Good Job. read
