  I guess the idea of a deathday is beyond me...I thought the artwork was beautiful and well suited for your film. i thought the narration was poetic. Though the videos volume was out of control. The crickets in the beginning was very loud and there was another part that was soft and normal then went loud and then back to soft again.

  I really enjoyed the use of Hopper's art. I saw some pieces I was familiar with and others that I wasn't. I realize that this film was a complicated piece to do. Picking the right picture's to help tell your story, and their placement. The narrative was hard for me to follow. The voice was all one level for me. The art was more intriguing then the words.   Even though I do not considered slideshows with voice over a film per se, I enjoyed the poetic attempt and the imagery. The characters in the paintings are very expressive, making me wish to see at least one of them speak. Good work and I’m looking forward to view more from you.

  A poetic accompaniment to some emotion-rich and thought provoking images. A few of which were particularly beautiful, like the best storyboard ever. Voice-over quality was not the best I have ever heard, In have mixed feelings about this effect on the finished product, to begin with it felt a little detracting, but in a way it strangely contributes to the overall mood of the...   I saw this featured on the home page so I decided to check it out. I like the concept of "death day" and using the pictures was nice as well. It would have been more impressive if you created original illustrations for the film but it's good the way it is and the narration meshed well.

  Sonetimes writing can be challenging at best,......but trying to match up still photographs/paintings with writing or prose,.....can, without a doubt, be a 'hair on fire' esperience'. Any wroter worth their salt, can easily explain the dynamics, and the various paths of good writing. This piece Richard Skinner, was and is, a piece worth demanding undivided attention. Good editing,....great...   It is a sobering thought, the antithesis to your Birthday, your Deathday. Once a year you will live through the day in the future when you will die. Deathday is a poignant and sombre depiction of love and it tells it through canvas, which somehow makes the story stronger. There were some issues, I don't know if there was a problem in the embedding, but the film seemed to jam... It is a sobering thought, the antithesis to your Birthday, your Deathday. There were some issues, I don't know if there was a problem in the embedding, but the film seemed to jam in places, also the soundtrack and sound effects seemed to overpower the dialogue in places. Other than that, a bittersweet, but enjoyable, short. read

  The paintings were very nice. The cricket sounds in one scene were extremely loud, almost sounded like a whistle. The voice over was too monotone for me and I didn’t quite understand the story you were trying to tell, if any. As to death day not being remembered (I believe you said that), in the U. S. the day someone died is usually remembered by the love ones left behind.
