  It's too bad no casting agent found Elsa. What a terrific performer she was. She had beauty, grace, range and imagination. Once your eyes are drawn to her activities you just don't want to look away. Thanks to writer, producer, director Sal Burciaga for finding Elsa and visually preserving her performance. A very nice tribute.

  but giving you the benefit of the doubt on this one...but really, what was this about? a woman hanging out on the street..is she waiting for someone? a hooker? insane? we have no idea (and I am not going to assume a woman on a street corner is a a hooker), not at all through the piece, just the visuals...and then the end splash card, that was rough, because we have no bearing... but giving you the benefit of the doubt on this one...but really, what was this about? a woman hanging out on the street..is she waiting for someone? a hooker? insane? we have no idea (and I am not going to assume a woman on a street corner is a a hooker), not at all through the piece, just the visuals...and then the end splash card, that was rough, because we have no bearing on the weight of it besides sadness for someone taken away...interesting shooting, some nice angles, compression was okay, but really ruined the obviously nice music....am not saying this is a bad film, but I would like to know more about the subject in a documentary piece like this read

  OK, so I was sitting there for 4 minutes not having a clue what was going on, thinking this was some premadonna in his prime, but when those words were shown the message hit home. Still, I think it was way too long, and seeing as the content is so weak, and the message so strong, I think it would have been MORE effective had it been punchy.

  I think the film captured the heart and soul of Elsa really well, which made the ending that more gut renching. On my first viewing I was very unsure about this film, but after waiting and watching a couple more times you learn to appreicate the inner depth of this story, the tragic story of poverty and tragedy of this one person.For me the film semed very personal that is... On my first viewing I was very unsure about this film, but after waiting and watching a couple more times you learn to appreicate the inner depth of this story, the tragic story of poverty and tragedy of this one person.For me the film semed very personal that is what I felt from the shots, not intrusive but personal.The cmaerawork was ok as was the editing, but the best part of this film was the exposure to Elsa's plight which hopefully will send a positive message out to those who ignore the plight of many. read

  I thought that this short was very well-made. A simple film made with a hand-held (nothing wrong with that) that really lets us get to know this woman. Maybe we don't know her as a p erson, but we can see how free she seems and how happy she is with life. The reaction of the people in the backgrounds and all around Elsa is well filmed. The small facts at the end of the... I thought that this short was very well-made. A simple film made with a hand-held (nothing wrong with that) that really lets us get to know this woman.   The reason we watch anything is to find out what happens next. Throughout this short, I was intruigued and wanted to know. That said -- I was confused about what I was watching. I knew it was different, stylized. I guessed Elsa was either dancing, or desperate, or ill. It was surreal, abstract, moody. Then, the epilogue washed back over the film and gave it context.... The reason we watch anything is to find out what happens next. Throughout this short, I was intruigued and wanted to know. That said -- I was confused about what I was watching.   Well, this project has lift me up just as let me down. I cannot really consider it a documentary for it does not document much, not what it's supposed to document to be precise. But it's very intriguing to watch. It's simple, well shot, poetic, clever, and not unintrusive. Life in Latin America is not as easy as in the States, and Europe, that is clear enough. But it's very intriguing to watch. It's simple, well shot, poetic, clever, and not unintrusive. Life in Latin America is not as easy as in the States, and Europe, that is clear enough. Though looks to me it could have been easily shot in East L.A., or Peckam.Life's tough when there's not enough money. That is pretty much what this short is shouting all along. But again hope transpires, and Elga's journey is not only hers. It belongs to millions of people whose everyday's life is far more difficoult than what we can imagine. So come on Elga, don't give up.Good job Sal. read

  I thought the fottage was good and everything went well with me. I just thought there could have been more of a description about this person's life. A quick interview, clips of people who knew her and about her lifestyle. Something to get me more involved about her. That was missing from the work and because of it, I was not able to get fully involved in the feelings of this... I thought the fottage was good and everything went well with me.   I have worked as a mental health professional and I'm no stranger to this. There is beauty in hope. She was missing a piece of the puzzle, and yet provides ours. To track, follow, to know and take a moment to film this lady is heroic. I think we're blessed that this film made it to us. Most could care so little to understand what this film tells us.   Not sure about this one - granted, a powerful piece in light of the information titled at the end, but I guess i just prefer more scripted drama. A good concept well presented, the long lens and camera motion worked well to show the urban isolation, and the hopelessness of an individual.
