  Wish I could give my best review, but I couldn't hear anything. If that was intended, then it wasn't a good idea. Everything else was great. Honestly, not much bad to say about it. Camera work was top quality (expect for the equality it's self which was SD) Acting seemed pretty good, if not better. Story intrigued me, even without sound. Lighting was fine, sometimes a bit... Wish I could give my best review, but I couldn't hear anything. If that was intended, then it wasn't a good idea. Everything else was great. Honestly, not much bad to say about it.
  
  Camera work was top quality (expect for the equality it's self which was SD)
  Acting seemed pretty good, if not better.
  Story intrigued me, even without sound.
  Lighting was fine, sometimes a bit blown out.
  
  Overall I liked it a lot. read

  The premise is good, however... It leaves quite a few questions that are maybe intentional, but still a little awkward. Why is he in the field? If he works in it maybe he should have been near a tractor, saw the box in the distance, then approached it? If he is lost on a country road, maybe he should see the box from his car. These idea's should have come into play rather than... The premise is good, however... It leaves quite a few questions that are maybe intentional, but still a little awkward. Why is he in the field? These idea's should have come into play rather than spend as much time on fishing out the pieces, and assembly of the actual mannequin. So he leaves it standing there and it comes alive, this I don't have that big of a problem with. Maybe he thought it would be funny to just leave it standing naked in the field? Who knew it would come alive!?
  
  He seems really excited about opening the box and less confused. Motivation for the guy shouldn't be "Your at a family Christmas and are opening your first present, that you don't like, but it's from you great grandmother from her death bed" and should be more like "There is an unmarked box in a field, because you don't really know what it is do you really want to open it?" This might help with the "Why is he so happy about a box full of Styrofoam peanuts in a field." Continuity with the actor placing the arms on the ground was a little off. Right arm to left arm switch. He did use his logic to put the thing together, however not very smoothly. Maybe get a close shot of the pieces snapping in place and less medium from his back? That's just a preference point. I half expected him to wave as he continued away from the "scene."
  
  Also the peanuts are distracting. If this is alien, or spiritual, or anything like that, wouldn't it look a lot cooler if it was in some kind of old school fiber packing material or even some of the straw from the surrounding field? Sorry for such a critical response to something I'm sure you really loved doing, but we only get better from our mistakes. This short was well shoot, a little on the commercial side, and maybe not as accurate of tracking as I would have liked, but it got the job done. And a little crane thrown in for value helps. You kept to the 180 rule which I give you props for. Good Job on you first film. ~ToFeR read

  I'm going to try not to be too critical here. It appears as though the filmmakers were actually do something they thought was really... neat? But it was like watching your little six-year-old cousin do a magic trick: the enjoyment is in the effort, not the execution. What little story there is is not new. Take the movie Mannequin, set it in an open field, remove all sound... I'm going to try not to be too critical here.   What little story there is is not new. Take the movie Mannequin, set it in an open field, remove all sound and character development, cut it to five minutes and you kind of have Form Perfect. Better yet, take the Greek story of Pygmalion, set it in an open field...
  
  I applaud anyone who actually picks up the camera, gets out there and makes a film. You're already ahead of the vast majority of other people. Unfortunately, however, there were too many shortcomings for this to be enjoyable at all. The main character was "schmacty," pulling faces as he discovers a crate in the middle of nowhere. The picture was shaky at times, canted for no reason at others, and blown out from start to finish. Not sure why it was a totally silent film, but okay.
  
  The "live hand" did a good job. So, there's that. read

  First and foremost that I appreciated in John C Sheetz's short "Form Perfect" was the length. It is under seven minutes. It is an actual short. He gets a lot across in this short span of time, which is something I always appreciate. As will some audiences as our attention spans grow ever shorter. The concept behind the script for "Form Perfect" is solid, in an obscure art film... First and foremost that I appreciated in John C Sheetz's short "Form Perfect" was the length. It is under seven minutes. It is an actual short. He gets a lot across in this short span of time, which is something I always appreciate. As will some audiences as our attention spans grow ever shorter.
  The concept behind the script for "Form Perfect" is solid, in an obscure art film sort of way. It was helped by a good performance by Damien Sharpe and excellent editing with good shot selections and an even flow throughout.. Although I found the cinematography to be a bit bright, it remained consistent so I easily accepted it as a choice. I took the choice to mean that something this fantastical, finding a box with a mannequin in a golden field in the very bright of daylight, may be all around us. Perhaps the magic around us that we miss in our daily lives. So the brightness worked.
  The final shot of the and moving was expected, but that didn't hinder the story. When Sharpe walked away I anticipated seeing the had motion for him to come back, as a child would call her parent. Or a creation calling it's creator.
  Which could bring a deeper meaning to the short. Is the hand humanity, created by an extremely random act by a creator who has walked away. And, with slight breast fondling a little perverted. Is it best for us not to call the creator back? Especially when we look at how those who follow through organized religions have created such a mess of the world.
  Or perhaps I drink too much coffee and think too much.
  But that is what made this film work.
  Where it failed for me was the sound. I don't know it is a technical glitch, but the two times I watched it, here and directly on YouTube, there was no sound. And it is a glaring omission. A little sound design around the opening of the box and building of the mannequin would have helped set the tone tremendously. Add a nice little score and this would be a gem.
  I truly hope Sheetz's adds this in the future. Then he will have perfect form. read

  Very cute, melodious feel to this quirky fantasy driven film. The pacing and editing is very smooth, and the animated desert background fits nicely with the light, but very appropriate music. An enjoyable watch! The acting works for the film. The twist at the end provides a nice little question to leave the audience pondering. Charming, to say the least!

  I liked the dream-like quality and the unique twist at the end. beautiful landscape and music, both seemed very fitting to the film. Am not sure the actor was as effective as the character could have been. i feel a different casting chose may have given a more powerful feel to this man's journey.

  Concept is cute for the adolescent age and could grab them. The music has a romantic feel that soon becomes irritating because it never stops. I never saw any real emotion coming from the actor as if it could be euphoric like, dreamy. In the beginning it has the picture feel like you are going to see an army come over the Iraqi desert.   I would sit down with people who work in wardrobe, music, location scouting, screenplay writers, etc. and get their ideas so that you can put something together that will bring your idea out. The idea can be brought out with all of the above carefully planned. read

  "Adam" has his way here, or so it seems. An accidental god? Not sure. Music sets mood though it doesn't illuminate story. Guessing you are basing the assumption an audience will have other references to get the story. The box, the man boy and the girl?   The story in this short is a mystery. What was the character doing there where he was? How did the box get there? What was the significance of the mannequin? And why did he simply walk away after taking the time to assemble it? The music seemed really loud but I'm not sure it was as in the absence of any other sound I had nothing to compare it to.   The character didn't have any arc, another story problem. He walked to the box, assembled the mannequin, then walked away.
  
  Dialogue wasn't used.
  
  The picture was too bright, washed out. I couldn't tell what the field was where the filming took place. read
