  THE LIGHTING WASNT GOOD EVERYTHING LOOKED ORANGE ADN UNDER LITE......ACTING WASNT BELIEVABLE HE LOOKS TO MUCH LIKE A NORMAL GUY TO BE HARDCORE AND GANGSTER..TO MUCH VOICE OVER TALK WHICH TAKES AWAY FROM THE FILM..HE SHOULD HAVE MAYBE MADE A STORY ABOUT FARMS HE LOOKS MORE LIKE A FARMER THEN A MOB TYPE GUY..THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION NOT TRYING TO SAY ITS BAD BUT WHEN SOMEONE...   Well made but cheesy

  I really like the production of this movie, very professional, very smooth, but I felt that the script was lacking, and the characters not defined enough. The story was alright, action was alright, acting was alright, the music was alright, it's an alright movie. But I bet that with a better script and some panache, this short could be great. You already have the keys to good... I really like the production of this movie, very professional, very smooth, but I felt that the script was lacking, and the characters not defined enough. You already have the keys to good filmmaking, good lighting, nice camera work and I'm not sure, but I think you have money. But why settle for good, when you can be great? If you can avoid the cliches (calling a cliche a cliche doesn't help, unless it's The Salton Sea), the cheesy gangster storyline, I think you're onto something here. read

  I like this. It's good in pretty much every way. Excellently photographed - it looks very professional and the sound seemed good too. The acting was fine, and the story did enough to keep me interested. The story developed well and managed to have enough genre cliches but still feel original. A good job; I don't really have much else to say!.

  This was an interesting piece, an interesting piece indeed, but for all of its artistic and techinical quality, it was in serious need of screenwriting and acting. Most annoying was the (probably adlibed) repetition of certain lines which just about every character did. Sorry, but I am a writer and once I hear bad writing I get distracted. Other than that, it was a good piece...   Same Old Story With a BUT

  Ok, don’t get too upset by that headline of mine. Fact is, I did find the story a bit predictable, but here and there (that is, not all the times) you got quite a good angle and I overall enjoyed your short. Some of the dialogue was a bit OTT (SPOILER ALERT! just like the one when woman and man meet for the 1st time. Moreover, as soon as you listen to her you know what is... Ok, don’t get too upset by that headline of mine. Fact is, I did find the story a bit predictable, but here and there (that is, not all the times) you got quite a good angle and I overall enjoyed your short.
  Some of the dialogue was a bit OTT (SPOILER ALERT! just like the one when woman and man meet for the 1st time. Moreover, as soon as you listen to her you know what is going to happen next…) and some of the plot was hard to swallow.
  
  Technically, the major flaw, IMHO, was the lighting. It was so dark man, so dark. It is possible some of it originated with the uploading, but I also believe the original footage didn’t help much.
  
  Sound was ok, though there was a continuous background noise on the outside bit which was rather annoying. But that did not prevent the dialogue from being properly heard, so I guess it wasn’t too bad.
  
  I liked your camera framing; some shots were very effective and perfect to create the right tension. Acting was ok. Ish. Editing was good, no faults there.
  
  Overall a nice short. A bit too dark. Ish. All the best and best of luck. read

  Nicely done. Your short opened with very stylish credits and stayed stylish throughout. Very well planned storyline. Not necessarily unique, but well played out - it grabbed my attention. Camerawork - quite awesome actually. There was a minor issue with the color balance inside the deli. It flucuated from scene to side. But all that aside, allow me to move on. First... Nicely done.   Camerawork - quite awesome actually. There was a minor issue with the color balance inside the deli. It flucuated from scene to side. But all that aside, allow me to move on. First off, your scene were very well planned out - your frame composition showed it and looked great. Edits looked very quick and good.
  
  Audio/music - the voiceover was good although the audio quality was a bit tinny sounding to me. Nice musical score.
  
  Acting - was fairly good. Some scenes looked very rehearsed. Dialogue at times sounded a bit forced. Shooting scenes were okayish.
  
  All in all... a captivating movie that was slick and stylish. It worked great for me and I truly enjoyed it. Best of luck with your future shorts. read

  I really liked the color scheme. I know you went with alot of the lighting that was already there such as the street lamp, when you shot outside, but it had nice continuity. I felt that some of the acting, mostly from the main character, was a little over dramatic. I felt like you could have spent a little more time developing the other characters other than the lead.

  The issue I have with crime shorts is that you are instantly putting yourself up against some of the best films ever made, containing some of the best performances in history. Its a blatantly unfair comparison but when seeing a short like this all I can think of is the crackling dialogue of Chandler, Hecht and Cain - the visual panache of Coppola and Scorsese, or the towering... The issue I have with crime shorts is that you are instantly putting yourself up against some of the best films ever made, containing some of the best performances in history. Its a blatantly unfair comparison but when seeing a short like this all I can think of is the crackling dialogue of Chandler, Hecht and Cain - the visual panache of Coppola and Scorsese, or the towering performances of Pacino, de Niro and Cagney. The crime genre has a weighty history that cannot be escaped. As such virtually every film in this genre comes up short. I think this film is a classic case. Technically this film is fine. Lighting is great, angles are nicely composed. Score is atmospheric. Even the central character plays his role well (although the supporting cast was a little lacking.) I even really liked the final twist. I However, I could not escape the feeling that I'd see everything here before - only done ten times better. This is not a criticism really - how could anyone come up to Godfather, Goodfellas et al? But by doing a film like this in the manner you have scripted and filmed it, I find it impossible to avoid making comparisons. Good direction of average material. Would be worth seeing more from this director. read

  good parts first. You did capture the style. I like the voice-overs. always have since Peter Gun and Sam Spade.The not so good. Over all has an amateurish feel, especially the acting. The dialogue was difficult to hear...but possible. The fight scene was not believable...the bad...very dark.. I know part of it may be due to compression, but all the flix on here are compressed,... good parts first. You did capture the style.   I like the story especially in tyhe opening sequence - the narration was the best part. Some of the acting seemed over done ( not bad just a little over the top in places) There is a major problem with the sound. A somtimes faint sometimes lound buzzing in the background. The gun shots are to muffled- they sound really cheesy. Easy to fix! - Ryan
