  well, the location was great for making a suspensful thriller, but i think you should have played with it a bit more... didn't really feel the atmosphere of it, didn't take me in. It wasn't scary, the sounds were quite ok but the music during the running was funny and seemed like it didn't really belong there... but some of the camera angles were pretty inovative and some shots... well, the location was great for making a suspensful thriller, but i think you should have played with it a bit more... didn't really feel the atmosphere of it, didn't take me in. When you don't have much story within the film, you should try to capture audience's attention by playing with the visuals then, which you didn't do that much...but still,it's a nice try. read

  I'm not sure the title should be Crime Scene. This movie is more about a bad cop, a person posing as a cop, or a miscommunication between cops than it is the actual crime scene. The first guy should wear clothes that are more dark. This can add to the confusion as to who the bad guy is. The hall is too well lit. Either lose the flashlight, lose the hall lighting, or turn... I'm not sure the title should be Crime Scene. This movie is more about a bad cop, a person posing as a cop, or a miscommunication between cops than it is the actual crime scene.

  The second guy's voice is not scary. Though again, if you were to turn this into a comedy, it could work.
  
  Enough of that, let's get to the good stuff.
  
  The ending was good. It left me curious: Was this an accident? Is the guy running away really a cop or did he steal the badge? Was the guy who was shot really a cop or a trespasser? What's the crime? Who, if anyone, is trying to cover it up?
  
  It left me wanting more, which is a GOOD THING!

  I enjoyed this short. And it was in fact *short*...the length was perfect for the premise, and yet the ending left open the possibility of a longer story. My initial reaction to the "not very convincing uniform" certainly got turned on its head. Knowing that the director played both parts, I'm curious whether he also did the camera work (and if so, how he accomplished... I enjoyed this short.

  Dutch Angles Do Not a Movie Make

  This entire film structures itself around one twist, which, while interesting, is not enough to justify the film as a whole. A majority of the film is shot using dutch angles. This fails to be interesting very quickly. I would have appreciated it if the filmmaking were a bit more creative. The music nearly made me laugh.

  Well Jonathan.. I gotta tell ya, your production notes about scared me off.. Saturday night boredom and a 4 hour effort are usually real turn offs, but I have watched your other films here on TS and enjoyed them, so thought I would give it a view. You will likely get a few complaints about the overall nature of this film, not having much of a plot, etc.. And truth be told,... Well Jonathan.. I gotta tell ya, your production notes about scared me off.. Saturday night boredom and a 4 hour effort are usually real turn offs, but I have watched your other films here on TS and enjoyed them, so thought I would give it a view.
  
  You will likely get a few complaints about the overall nature of this film, not having much of a plot, etc.. And truth be told, they are valid complaints, but I like the style of this piece, as I have enjoyed your other work. I wish you had spent some of the boredom time writing and planning a complete story, but what you shot, you shot pretty well. You have a pretty good way with this type of film and I find it enjoyable. I look forward to your next project.. String a few boredom sessions together and give us another film with a full story! Keep rolling. read

  I thought the director did a very good job at creating an eerie atmosphere. The hallway was, I felt, legitimately creepy. I suggest you watch a film called "Irreversible" that does a near perfect job of making hallways seem creepy and seedy (and also really good use of a fire extinguisher to a guys head, but that's a whole other story). The acting, although much wasn't said,... I thought the director did a very good job at creating an eerie atmosphere. The hallway was, I felt, legitimately creepy. The acting, although much wasn't said, was pretty good i felt. Being from North Carolina, I know cops that look and act just like the main character (with the exception of the "actually being a murderer" part of course). And since this was all done by one guy, it makes the film that much better. The short was kept dark and short. Excellent job and I'm looking forward to more from you. read

  I found this film, overall, very atmospheric. Most of the sounds were chosen well although the xylophone type music used as the guy is running up the hallway I found was a bit unsuited, a bit comedic and cut me off from the sinister feel of it. The actor's look I also thought didn't suit the character he was playing, perhaps somebody a bit darker looking would have been better?... I found this film, overall, very atmospheric.   One question: Where can I get a "cheap knockoff undercover outfit?" This wasn't bad. A bit of twist at the end. Not sure why the cop is wearing a ski-mask other than to throw off the viewer. Some nice shot choices. Good use of minimal lighting. I thought the editing could have been tightened up in a few spots, particularly where we first see the cop down the hall. Pretty...   not much to review here, but you have a good shooting style, you have some solid ideas, and the voice over is okay, it works....the music in this is the real star though, you nailed it very well, you made it something that really brought out the emotion of the piece well done

  There's bundles of creativity on display here - which is great to see. The camera work is excellent, which goes to show it's silly when people moan about not having a budget and all that - anything is possible, just pick up yout camera and shoot your movie. The music is great - really helps to craft the atmosphere without controlling the scene. The editing is excellent,... There's bundles of creativity on display here - which is great to see.   The editing is excellent, and overall the film is quite dramatic and interesting - even if, like the last Jonathan Dixon film I reviewed.. it doesn't *quite* grip me, doesn't quite seem believable.
  
  So Mr Dixon - we can see you're a talented director, and the editing is brilliant - the opportunity for brilliance is right there in front of you. So either write or find an original script and make that masterpiece I think you may be destined to make..
