  Ok, so as you can see in the title i'm a little confused. I'm not really sure what this whole film was about. and there's the thing, is it really a short film? It has no substance to it really. It's mostly just a rant saying that LA is better than NY. The visual part to this 'feature' is mostly just pictures, and amateur videos. It's kinda funny, i'll give it that, but the... Ok, so as you can see in the title i'm a little confused. I'm not really sure what this whole film was about. and there's the thing, is it really a short film? It has no substance to it really. It's mostly just a rant saying that LA is better than NY. The visual part to this 'feature' is mostly just pictures, and amateur videos. It's kinda funny, i'll give it that, but the little bit of comedy doesn't make up for the fact that this film hasn't got much to it. I know that i'm probably being a bit negative, and if the film-maker REALY wants to keep going, then don't let me stop you. All i'm saying is, you could do better.
  Overall, i'm not impressed. This film has nothing to it. It's basically an orange peel, with no orange in it. If you eat the orange peel it tastes kinda like an orange, but you'd prefer to eat the main orange. This is the same for the film. It's a film, but it's not. I'm sorry if you don't agree...Each to their own.

  Seamless cuts/editing. Music worked. Nice finding all the old clips and working them into the film. I thought that there could be more play on the opposite coasts and opposite personalities. The narator's voice didn't work for me at first, took a while to get used to it and then, the film was over. Longer version?

  Another Lang video poem about America's two famous cities. I know that Elmer is a foreighner, ( your from some where in the mid west or south. I saw the piece about your mother, which was very moving.)So I can understand his attraction to the LA. But remember that while L.A. has nature around it, you can't see it because of the smog.   I am not sure how much was shot by you because there was so much that was obviously stock footage. I usually like to see what the filmmaker did with the camera, etc. I can say that unfortunately in the editing, the cheesy special effects were annoying. I guess due to the footage not being your own, the narrative is where comments are to be made. I thought it was an enjoyable...   Another video with stock footage and robust narration with cheap edits. To be honest, though, even though I disliked the video over all, his observation on people/cities was pretty nice. However, that alone doesn't redeem the poor quality and lack of real substance. Admittedly, I suppose it's entertaining in it's own way, but it can hardly be called high quality.

  London's people and land have both! :-P Nevertheless, LA/NY is a rather accurate description of the two cities. The added irony is that LA is home to Hollywood, a place where many dreams are brought to life, but where as vast swathe of the inhabitants are automatons! Just one of the many great ironies in life I guess!

  This short film asserts that the land in Los Angeles is interesting and the people are bland, and vice versa in New York, which strikes me as an oversimplification of the two largest cities in the US. The film does not really elaborate further even on this one simple opinion. The editing of the stock footage is almost compelling at some points, where it juxtaposes "LA people"...   The editing of the stock footage is almost compelling at some points, where it juxtaposes "LA people" with sharks. Perhaps it's saying something about teeth? But even this is fleeting and possibly accidental when compared with the rest of the film.
  
  A piece like this would benefit from a stronger premise and more developed ideas. read

  This was a fun, interesting piece. I'm not a huge fan of the spoken word voice over to interesting images genre, and the fact that this one used stock footage lessened that experience for me viewing this as a judge. That said there was a good selection of images played at the right times for this story.

  I wasn't really for or against this piece. I think all the footage was stock and the concept was easy to get and it worked and it didn't. I think implanting the filmmaker face and not just voice over ruins the work and it should just be stock and voice over.

  This short film was entertaining. It had its funny parts but is completely one sided. I take it you are from New York and visited LA and yes they are completely different but they are also the same in a way. It was a great story and enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work.
