  I have watched many shorts on this site and most of them interest me about as much as a dead slug on the sidewalk. This one however is worth watching all the way through, and more, it is interesting. I actually wanted to see the end but was not eager for it to end. The acting wasn't very demanding but the guy on the couch was I think the most neutral. He didn't draw any... The story was well thought out and it didn't appear that it was rushed to completion. One of the best I've seen in this category. read

  Overall film wuality is good. The effects were nicely done, and visually, your scenes flow well one into the next. There are some funny moments here, but the weak story just didn't appeal to me. Dialogue may have helped to increase your "funny quotient" I like how you use music to recreate the old silent movie slapstick style.

  I like your short overall. A great sense of visual storytelling. Good compositions, and the editing effectively links spaces. MAybe a little slow in the first third, and the guy on TV was annoying, but clever otherwise. Wasn't sure of the cowboys roll at first, whereas the other two suicidals had at least run into one another. Couldn't see the polaroid image clearlyover the... I like your short overall.   I am not sure that I understood it all but it was clever. The filming and editing was very good and the actors comfortable. Clever interplay between the circumstances of the guy in the tree and the blind man's predicament was humorous. I think that it was quite a bit too long and that alone was enough to make this just a 'consider' rather than a 'recommend'. Editing it down... I am not sure that I understood it all but it was clever. The filming and editing was very good and the actors comfortable.   i really enjoyed this short. but i almost fell asleep watching it. i think the music was to mellow for the action. it had a french, amelie, comedy style to it which i liked very much. i think if the music had been a little more upbeat it would of worked better for me. the concept was crazy and imaginative. it just fell a bit short. production value was very cool. good... i really enjoyed this short. but i almost fell asleep watching it. i think the music was to mellow for the action. it had a french, amelie, comedy style to it which i liked very much. i think if the music had been a little more upbeat it would of worked better for me. the concept was crazy and imaginative. it just fell a bit short. production value was very cool. good job. read

  This short had more preparation and inspiration than most shorts I've seen (on TS and otherwise). Nice job. The overall production lacked the level of polish that I usually like to see, but the scope and handling made up for it. Additionally I think that it might have possible to tell this story in less time, as shorter shorts tend to be more effective. With the footage... Additionally I think that it might have possible to tell this story in less time, as shorter shorts tend to be more effective. With the footage you have, you might be prevented from cutting it down, but some of the scenes just seem to meander (stuff with the blind guy on the curb, some of the cowboy cooking scenes took just a little too much time). Some things that stood out: guy hanging himself didn't look like he was hanging himself. The rope just didn't seem to be around his neck in certain shots. Understandably cost and safety concerns dictated certain decisions, but that little thing took me out momentarily. Also the cooking host hammed it up a little too much. His performance sort of stole the show a little from the main action (especially when contrasted with the low key performance of the cowboy). Tone cooking guy down (although the line "It's patty time" was pretty good). Lastly, I think the cowboy could have been cast or made up to look a little more rugged. Good job overall. read

  This was an interesting little story. It was nice and very well shot, however I found it to be at least 3 minutes too long. I found that by the 4th minute or so my interest was lacking. I already knew what was going to happen and found myself thinking nothing but "HURRY UP!!" Again I thought it was very well shot and the colour scheme looked nice. All in all not bad, but...   I LOVED this; it stands up as a piece of work construced perfectly to fit the short film format. Characters were introduced in seconds with mere gestures, and the story remained deeply, confidently compelling right through until the last frame. Acting was superb; editing and camerawork remained unobtrusive and unflashy throughout. Some great visual comedic moments here too;... I LOVED this; it stands up as a piece of work construced perfectly to fit the short film format. Acting was superb; editing and camerawork remained unobtrusive and unflashy throughout. Some great visual comedic moments here too; assured and surreal snips of light comedy that shame most of the juvenile, signposted hap-gaggery that I've sat through lately. These ten minutes flew by without an ounce of flab. Top stuff. read

  A really off the wall story that I enjoyed more the further it went along. Half way I wasn't too keen on this strange take on apparently lazy helpfulness, but by the end it had definitely grown on me. All four actors put in strange kind of performances, the silence of the three leads balanced by the extreme noisiness of the TV cookery guy. There is a strange Western feel running... Half way I wasn't too keen on this strange take on apparently lazy helpfulness, but by the end it had definitely grown on me. All four actors put in strange kind of performances, the silence of the three leads balanced by the extreme noisiness of the TV cookery guy. There is a strange Western feel running throughout, from the suicidal man playing C and W music (well known for being depressing...) to the classic through-the-legs shot used between the man and the dog, as well as the cowboy himself. It certainly has a very American atmosphere. The whole concept of a man who helps others without really breaking a sweat, someone who apparently has a fair deal of control over the World around him and yet who also watches daytime cookery shows while cooking from his sofa is truly original, for sure! Its cleverly filmed to be realistic in an unbelievable sort of way. Really strange, but very good. read

  This piece kept my interest up but only because I kept waiting for a story. But there wasn't one. You obviously have talent in that you can edit and set up your shots but we need a story. That's what film is all about. Maybe you're just trying to be esoteric and I'm missing the point or maybe it is another film that substitutes story for quirky "art". Again you definately have... The piece was interesting. I'd like to see what you can do with a really good script. keep it up. Good luck. read
