  Found Interest
  A review of Lost Love

  The cameraman is good. Most notable aspect of this film. Initially, I didn't care, as a viewer, and then, I forgot I didn't care and watched the film, and then I guessed the ending. Just wanted to give you my play by play. Actors were all good, but the dialogue went from line reading to living in the now and back to monotone roteness. (Is that even a word?) The camera person... The cameraman is good. Most notable aspect of this film.

  The camera person really saved the day. The story didn't compel me to feel one way or another, but I really like some of the shots.
  
  This review is going nowhere and doing nothing for you.
  
  I appreciate the time and energy and dedication that went into this production. Everyone involved made this film happen...Kudos. read

  Lost Sound?

  The Director of Photography did a really nice job here. The shots were very nice--in fact the visuals were top notch. Set design, angles, etc. I'm sure it would have been nicer in the native 16:9 ratio it was originally shot in (the image is obviously stretched in post to fit the standard 4:3 screen size--I wish it hadn't been). In fact my biggest issue--aside from the punch-line... The Director of Photography did a really nice job here. The shots were very nice--in fact the visuals were top notch. In fact my biggest issue--aside from the punch-line nature of the short--is the posting. Horrible mixing on audio. I could not hear have of what was being said, so i really forced to fill in the blanks storywise with guesses. In fact I know I missed major elements. The editing was poor as well. Too many dips to black. There was a clearer, shorter way to tell this story. The dips to black work well for when the boyfriend is knock out but other than that it was massively overused. At any rate, not a bad short by any means, just one plague with problems. read

  Good acting in this story, narrative and dialogue, I will say the main character was scary in his obsession. Interesting choice of shots and angles, and I liked the pan at the stairs as she went to her apartment. Good editing. Suspense built early on the story with setup and sountrack, even though at first the pace sometimes seemed long to wait for what would happen. When it... When it revealed the confusion, I was afraid to see where it would go, glad to know how one ending was 'resolved' but then it's an open scenario to wonder where future 'endings' will take him, or if they will occur similar for that matter. It seemed he really did lose his love, that she did not return that day for whatever reason, but after that he just lost "it". Interesting idea in script, caused me to wonder what a future tale might see if he became obsessed with someone who actually returned the interest. Hmmmm.... Decent score and For a directorial debut, especially to star in the work itself, this was really good execution. read

  This is a very well plotted film and extremely professionally produced with the exception of the audio track. After so much effort and such a wonderful job with this short, it deserves to have the audio reworked to balance the quiet and the screams. Perhaps a run through some compression would do the trick.   Otherwise, this was a fantastic short film. You provided a clear and interesting story, your actors pulled off their parts and the shot blocking and edits were clean and useful.
  I especially enjoyed the ending with the protagonist in the institution. That was a very nice touch. read

  Interesting concept, great twist. And, more importantly, what a brilliant, brilliant film. Bravo. Let's start from the start. The short opens with an interesting idea. Come on, if you have been left by someone you were in love with, then I guess you will also have, more or less, gone to some sort of obsessive stage toward your lost love. Question is, how far would you go?... Interesting concept, great twist. And, more importantly, what a brilliant, brilliant film. Bravo.
  
  Let's start from the start. The short opens with an interesting idea. Come on, if you have been left by someone you were in love with, then I guess you will also have, more or less, gone to some sort of obsessive stage toward your lost love. Question is, how far would you go? For some, this deteriorates to stalking and that is exactly what kept me going with your short, that is what intrigued me the most. I guess it is difficult to let your lost love go, uh? Imagining your partner in someone else’s arms and all that (damn, I am getting pissed off already.) Ok let’s move on. And let’s be frank.
  
  Your short succeeded plot-wise, I give you that. I also think you directed your cast well (bravo to actors and actresses; they did a very good job.) The story builds up convincingly and nothing I have seen was OTT. Well done for that.
  
  Technically, the camerawork moved from good to more-than-that. You mixed hand-held and dolly track styles with confidence and IMHO they worked very well. The one problem I had (not a small one) was the poor lighting. I don’t know, it looked like everything was way too dark, interior and exterior. It might be an uploading problem, nevertheless this was a bit irritating when watching. Other than that, everything else worked just fine. Audio was very good and dragged you into the action doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
  
  A very good short film which I really enjoyed. This is one of not too many shorts here on TS which could have stand a change had they been made as a feature (but that also means I would not have been able to watch it, so I guess it's better as it is. Or may be not. Or ... oh whatever.)
  
  The twist (which I won’t reveal) is solid and made me wonder how this story can be a real one. Scary! Well done you. All the best and best of luck. read

  Flipping Out

  I liked this... I guess that's because the subject matter grabbed me. I've always been partial to drama that involves someone flipping out, or going out of control. If anything can do that to a person, it's a relationship. But the critical thing is that this was done with a strong sense of humor, which is what is needed to get through some of these situations... especially... I liked this... But the critical thing is that this was done with a strong sense of humor, which is what is needed to get through some of these situations... especially life situations where you want something badly but cannot get it, and you start to resort to make believe and fantasizations (writers never do this, of course!) to fulfill that need. So, hat's off to you, because you managed to touch upon that vibe all within the space of a short film, which is, I think, the whole point in this type of venue -- you're in, you're out, ba-boom, ba-bing... Good stuff. read

  This film, I like. Firstly, it's the camera work. It's not too flashy, and yet it's predominantly all off the tripod stuff, so for it to be so smooth as well, yeah, that works. Story wise, it's a clever idea. I liked this a lot, because the guy is obviously a little off kilter, but he's not too far gone that you don't empathise with his state of mind. It's a neatly written... This film, I like. Firstly, it's the camera work. It's not too flashy, and yet it's predominantly all off the tripod stuff, so for it to be so smooth as well, yeah, that works.
  
  Story wise, it's a clever idea. I liked this a lot, because the guy is obviously a little off kilter, but he's not too far gone that you don't empathise with his state of mind. It's a neatly written piece. Not too sprung off of the slightly schmalzty relationship between the girl and her real boyfriend, but hey, maybe I'm just being cynical here.
  
  As a debut, it's a very high standard piece, and you should be pleased. Good luck with the next one. read

  Good tone, good music and some clean images make this one work. The acting is well done and the frustration of the situation is well presented. We all are way too familiar with this kind of a psycho. (That increases the tension) The confusion of "who is who" makes it interesting and the ending is a relief. There are only two dialogue rough spots, just not real clear what is... Good tone, good music and some clean images make this one work.
