  The editing at the beginning is rough to say the least. However, once the crux of the story becomes apparent, the editing problems matter not. This was a good, probably great idea, but I think it could have been better. Had the character done more than just place things on the book it would have been classic. It just became too repetitive after a while. My suggestion would... The editing at the beginning is rough to say the least.   Had the character done more than just place things on the book it would have been classic. It just became too repetitive after a while. My suggestion would be to take the book out of the house. This would open up several other opportunities to display the powers of the book.
  
  "Magic of Music" was a fun, interesting short film that unfortunately didn't utilize it's premise enough. Also, might want to avoid using acid loops everyone has heard before. They take the magic out of it. read

  Fantastic idea. I really enjoyed watching it, especially the flamingo bit. Great. The editing was quite good and acting as well. The whole film was very well done and I'm really suprised someone with no experience did something so good. I'd love to see more of his work.

  I nice little bit of nothing really. I enjoyed it. It was light and no inner deeper revelation was forthcoming - just a pleasant 'bit of fluff'. For a one man show you di well Mike. The camera work and editing were good and the music was an enjoyable ambience. Your knick knacks acted well lol and you did a good job too. Good work.

  This was a refreshing short film, with a great concept. It was nicely shot and edited (editing was particularly strong) and the choice of actor (yourself) was good. The lighting, and or course, sound was well executed.I like that the main character, who looked the boring and nerdy kind of book collector, really go into the part, and made the work quite watchable.From a technical... Although amusing and upbeat, after around two to three minutes, it was starting to drag: because you'd already shown us as much as you needed to, so I would suggest a re-edit, just to cut it down a bit. Overall, though, a nice short that was funny and full of feel good factor, if just a little long. I also would have loved for you to explore: what happened next, but I guess sometimes it's better to leave that to the audiences imagination. Well done, and good luck with your next project. read

  This is a well edited music video. The syncronization of the music to the action is well done. The music is a pretty bland hip-hop tune that could have done more for the movie if it were more interesting. As I watched the video unfold I was looking for a bit more at the end thn just the end of the song and a black-out. I would have liked to hve been given more of a payoff...   Hmm, looks like someone's not taking their medication. Mike, Mike, Mike what are we going to do with you? What else do you do with your "knick knicks"? Magic of Music looks like a lonely pathetic middle age man who finally flips his wig. And you say it's comedy? If it's sympathy your looking for, you've got my vote.

  I liked the soundtrack as it had a catchy beat. The lead looked liked he was enjoying himself to the music. The figurines were interesting. Everytime the camera was one of them, was it supposed to have some sort of effect on the music? I couldn't read what the inscription was at the end. Nice beat for experimentation.

  I thought the idea was creative and cute. However, after about the first minute, I became bored. I love music and can totally relate to how it makes you want to get up and dance and act funny. I though that aspect of the fiml was great. However, after about a minute of the guy putting different animals on the sheet music and getting wilder in his dances, I got bored. The... The film could have been cut in about half the time and still gotten it's point across.What I thought was odd was the ending where he closes the book. I understand the film had to come to an end, but if the guy was enjoying the music so much, why did he close the book? I would have thought it would have ended where he started dancing around his home. read

  I found myself gyrating a bit to this infectious little song you made. What a nifty set-up to showcase it. I enjoyed your performance as well, Mike, as you lost yourself in the music. I myself have done the same thing when alone in a room - or my car - and a great song comes on the radio. The only place this misses a bit is in the edit - some of the jump cuts missed in continuity... I found myself gyrating a bit to this infectious little song you made.   Firstly, yes i did like the music I found myself bobbing and grooving to it to. The editing was goog overall on the surreal idea. A few close reaction shots were jarring because the edits didnt match as well as they could from positioning of head and expression to shot selection. But as a musical weird bit of cinema its fun and strange and I liked it. Nice music loops!
