  Though I love your standard horror and kids can be creepy, I usually find the performances understandably flat from the child actor, a strongly secured relationship shows in the honesty of the little girls performance here,( though a lot of that could be in a good edit) like the creepy phased out quality in the dialog, (but I would try more controlled delivery, like only have...   You might look at trimming down the looking under the bed, shorter might have more impact unless you're showing something under the bed, which was completely obscured.
  
  Really, other than some lighting choices and in general being a little dark. I found it difficult to give critical remarks.
  
  To me this is an example of tailoring a production to the budget from the script forward.
  good production value for low cost.
  Gets my vote to move forward.

  Monster is a film thats been done over and over again. It has nice lighting and the actors are good, especially the little girl. I wanted to see some of the monster, the movie did have that creepy feeling. I just wish the ending was a little thicker and not so predictable.

  This film is riveting. The acting is excellent and the little girl is the best actress imaginable. The direction is well done and was effective and keeping the drama strong and the audience on the edge of their seats. However, this film really needs an ending. Currently it doesn't seem satisfying to see the girl screaming "daddy" without any kind of resolution.

  Well done, Mr. Andrews, cast and crew... A simple, yet effective 'boogeyman' short, with some interesting color and lighting schemes. It WAS quite dark, although there were some interesting shots in amongst the darkness... Although the ending was utterly predictable, the reveal (and subsequent response from Connie) was effective. Aside from the darkness, the only point... Well done, Mr. Andrews, cast and crew... A simple, yet effective 'boogeyman' short, with some interesting color and lighting schemes. It WAS quite dark, although there were some interesting shots in amongst the darkness... Although the ending was utterly predictable, the reveal (and subsequent response from Connie) was effective. Aside from the darkness, the only point I'd address would be a portion of the dialogue. Had you removed a line here, a line there, the dialogue would not have (momentarily) broken the 'spell' that was otherwise well cast... All in all, though, a solid short. Cheers... read

  Nothing really impressive about this short, but certainly not done all that terribly either. Actually, not half bad.The problem with this short is it's just floating at the neutral zone, the land of mediocrity, film limbo; whatever you want to call it. I suppose one thing I can commend the writer and director on is the idea of TAPPPING into to people's COMMON FEARS. Certainly... Nothing really impressive about this short, but certainly not done all that terribly either. Certainly you tried to hit a universal chord with the idea of a monster under the bed--who couldn't relate to that? However, the problem is that this story has been beaten into our minds so much no body cares anymore, and, even worse, nobody is scared.One good trick was the fake-out when the dad got caught under the bed by the monster. You certainly faked me out--maybe I'm just easy--but good job.Find something less cliche and keep on trying to hit those chords. read

  First off - the Production Notes are obscene. If the film is too dark, no matter what the scenario, then this is your fault. I've been in this boat before - it just means that you haven't compressed the film properly. End of. Anyway, this was very effective for such a short piece.   There are nice shot choices, the music sets the tone nicely and the characters are played out well. The cinematography is unique with the intense blue, but a bit over the top (it creates the desired dark mood, but is at times too dark to even see). The story seems too driven by the music and cinematography, the dialogue is rather boring and while the "on the edge of your... Some more depth to the story would make it all more gripping. read

  This is a reasonable film. Script and direction are taut. The suspense builds well, and is aided by a good score and solid acting. The film does appear to be a bit underlit and under-contrasted. There is a lot of blue on display - but it does not impede viewing too much. This is a very solid addition to the horror genre. The only real issue I have is that there is nothing... The only real issue I have is that there is nothing original on display in the script. It follows the genre conventions by the book, and therefore there are no surprises on offer. Even the twist at the end is no surprise. But other than that, some decent film making on display and with a more original script this production team may be better able to demonstrate its talents. read

I KNOW IN YOUR PRODUCTION NOTES YOU CLAIM THAT IT COULD BE HARDWARE AND SUCH, AND I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT PUTTING STUFF UP ON T.S. CAN CHANGE AND DARKEN YOUR LIGHTING. BUT THE DARKNESS OF THE SHORT DOESN'T BOTHER ME AS MUCH AS THE LIGHTING JUST BEING FLAT. THE LIGHTING IS THE SAME ALL THOUGH THE PICTURE. I THINK MAYBE YOU COULD HAVE USED LIGHTING AND SHADOWS TO HELP BUILD THE TENSION. PLAY AROUND WITH IT! GREAT LIGHTING HELPS DRIVE THE HORROR GENRE..........GOOD LUCK IN FUTURE PROJECTS. read

  Some nice work here creating tension and atmosphere. The music is a standout and really leads the viewers emotions. The girl is a great little actress. Always a fun theme in a horror flick when dealing with the monster that's hiding in the closet or under the bed. The ending is a good one - it lets us come to our own conclusion, something that will be different for every person... Some nice work here creating tension and atmosphere.
