  I enjoyed this film, the idea is very simple but effective. It did remind me a little bit of the Matrix with the phone thing, although anything that uses in phone in a surreal way is obvious to be likened to that. The camera work was good, although the sound did tend to be a bit jumpy, at some points silent (i assume for effect) then very loud. The acting was a little cheesy,... I enjoyed this film, the idea is very simple but effective.   The positive was I liked some of the camera angles. The over exposures worked well to add to the dreamy feel. It was a nice idea, not sure why you picked a phone. I really didn't understand why the film titles/credits run throughtout the film, I found that very annoying and took something away from the film. Some scenes just were too long. The interaction between the woman and man in the restuarant was good. But why did he walk from the street to pick up someone elses phone? I didn't get the last bit when he became old again, why? how?
  When he did become younger, you could have made alot more with that scene. Imagine picking up a phone and becoming younger! That would freak you out, also excited you, knowing you had that control. I'd have taken the phone with me and not leave it on a table. Conclusion: too slow in parts, lovely exposure and camera angles, nice acting in the restaurant, nice short film idea parts of the story didn't make complete sense and the titles spoilt it. Keep shooting! read

  Loved the stylised, dreamlike overexposed look of this. It was all very trance like. Great concept. Great editing. My only slight criticism would perhaps be the sound - the dialogue was tinny in parts. Interesting idea to have the credits in the middle of the movie. As far as the story goes I loved it but was slightly confused....was the girl in fact his grandaughter?? Or do... Loved the stylised, dreamlike overexposed look of this. It was all very trance like.   This video moved far to slow for its content. The short started out copelling enough, but I had a hard time understanding the audio. I think the dialog could have been a little more interesting. The credits were coming up in the middle of the movie. I didn't understand where this was going. First it sounded like a man felt like he was a burden to the family. Then I see...   I have to say you have come up with something new and different. Never have I seen a film where the credits come up throughout the whole thing. Not sure I liked the technique, but it's definitely different. You can tell the actors were novices, but the script does a pretty good job showing us the woman has the mindset of a child. An interesting story idea. Not too shabby... I have to say you have come up with something new and different. Never have I seen a film where the credits come up throughout the whole thing.   not a bad short, cool idea, the shots and angles were all good. the acting seemed pretty real and down to earth. there were quite a few twists and turns in the story which i think is harder to acomplish in a short film because of lack of time, however you pulled it off.

  I loved this film. Cinematically this worked. I liked the softened over-exposure effect which gave a surreal dream-like quality. I liked the use of sound to telegraph the man's inner world and thoughts. I loved the minimalist feel to this work. I liked the actors, the shot composition and the story, but... there were 3 points that let this film down badly: 1. Some of the audio... I loved this film. Cinematically this worked. I liked the actors, the shot composition and the story, but... there were 3 points that let this film down badly: 1. Some of the audio at the beginning of the film sounds like 'canned' low-grade audio samples. High quality recorded dialogue should have been used here. 2. I could not believe that you inserted director credits exactly half-way through the film! this was bizzarre! You must remove them credits because they make your film fail, and this film is too good to fail. Take those credits out half way through the film. They serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. 3.The ending is not quite right... We see the red telephone, ok. Then we fade to black and fade to red telephone again, this time ringing. Then we fade to black. Something not quite right here. I know what you are trying to convey, but you must analyze this and find a clear way to end on the telephone.
  Fix these 3 points and you have got a great film. All the Best. read

  a nice little film about old age and, I guess, regret(?). the opening scene of the old man standing on the empty street corner had a tranquil, medative qaulity to it that I like a lot. Then the film lost me. The audio levels were too low to undestand what was being said bewteen the old man and the woman he meets at the cafe. Is that his daughter?

  This, at least for me, was quite a nice surprise. It doesn't happen often to watch a short from the far East, and I wonder why this does not happen more often. 'Phone Age,' in my modest opinion, was a very interesting short film which, though not perfect, was a very enjoyable experience from a viewer point of view. Let's have a look at what I liked and what I didn't. To... This, at least for me, was quite a nice surprise. It doesn't happen often to watch a short from the far East, and I wonder why this does not happen more often.
  
  'Phone Age,' in my modest opinion, was a very interesting short film which, though not perfect, was a very enjoyable experience from a viewer point of view.
  Let's have a look at what I liked and what I didn't.
  
  To begin with, the cinematography was careful and, so it seemed, planned. I like to see shots which have been planned for they give the short a professional quality that otherwise would be difficult to achieve. Acting was good, considering we're talking about a non professional cast. I believe the director put them in the right state of mind and allowed them to give their best.
  
  The story was intriguing and that really got me. The end twist added some extra tension which I enjoyed.
  
  Technically, it worked wiith a few downsides. Editing was well done and colouring in post made an interesting job. I might not agree to all that sephia look and over-exposed whites, but I do have to say the look you achieved was dream-alike and unique. So well done with that, no matter what my personal taste is.
  
  Two major problems I identified in your short film. One was the audio, whereas too often background noise was way too present in the conversation bits. The other one being the credits sequence which run all the way tthrough the film. Whether this was an artistic decision or not I don't know (it looks like it was though) but, as a viewer, I did find that quite annoying. I mean, well past half the short I still found credits coming out. I kept loosing focus on the story, and that ain't good!
  
  Overall, a veruu interesting piece which grabbed my imagination. Thanks for the viewing. All the best and best of luck. read

  The Red phone of youth was a clever idea. A mysterious red phone rings and whoever anwers it becomes young. Or does the young get old when they answer the phone. At the end when the girl answers the phone and becomes a child was confusing to me. I don't know if she orginally was a child or the phone made her that way.   Overall the film was nice but I didn't like the voice over to explain the old man's situatrion. I felt there should have been visuals with the voice of the child and the couple fighting about what to do with the old man.The visual could have helped with the pacing of the film, which was slow to me. read
