  I loved this film, it was delivered in such a deadpan, sincere fashion that it would have sat well on Discovery Channel. Everything, from the semi-formal framing of the historian, through to the animation of the paintings sliding across the screen were perfect detailing of genuine documentaries, and the more outrageous the claims regarding cell phones and SDI became, the harder... I loved this film, it was delivered in such a deadpan, sincere fashion that it would have sat well on Discovery Channel.
  Everything, from the semi-formal framing of the historian, through to the animation of the paintings sliding across the screen were perfect detailing of genuine documentaries, and the more outrageous the claims regarding cell phones and SDI became, the harder I laughed.
  
  Production quality is high, but not too high (or else it wouldn't be convincing), audio is spot on (just patronising enough, without being charicature), casting was perfect...
  seriously, Real True History (Of Things That Happened In The Past?) would make a great regular slot on something like Saturday Night Live read

  Real True History was a hilarious "Documentary" that i would gladly watch again and again. The Production, Direction, and Music all contributed to making this film almost believable. This movie started out like a normal documentary, including the names, dates, paintings, and mono-tone narration that you expect most educational films about the Revolution to have. Then the narrator... Real True History was a hilarious "Documentary" that i would gladly watch again and again. The Production, Direction, and Music all contributed to making this film almost believable. This movie started out like a normal documentary, including the names, dates, paintings, and mono-tone narration that you expect most educational films about the Revolution to have. Then the narrator start talking about missles, cell phones, and Ronald Reagon. The historical aspect then runs a-muck. I give Real True History Two Thumbs up. read

  Yup, loved this one. The documentary style worked very, very well on this spoof short. Psychic have always been a pain in the arse and a nuisance anyway, so I felt quite happy on this one. Technically, it was very well edited. It really resembled a Nat'l Geographic or an History Channle documentary. The presence oh the historian reinforced the idea we were watching something... Yup, loved this one. The documentary style worked very, very well on this spoof short. Psychic have always been a pain in the arse and a nuisance anyway, so I felt quite happy on this one. Technically, it was very well edited. It really resembled a Nat'l Geographic or an History Channle documentary. The presence oh the historian reinforced the idea we were watching something 'real'. And the voive ot the commentator, always keeping the same tone, tricked you everytime some inaccurancy would take place. The writing was great, and the jokes very really funny. The whole bit with the mobile phone was hilarious. Well done, though I feel you might, should have completed your research. Was that mobile a Nokia? Was it a Sony? Oh well, let me ask some psychic. read

  I'm a huge history and documentary fan and I thought this was a funny idea that makes a clever little story which is simular to those 'what if' stories!What i liked was the daft phsyic vision of Thomsen, the fact that he got confused with the dates so he saw something happening but it was hundreds of years in the future, that was a good little idea almost a comic version of... The framing of the interview was pretty good and I liked the zoom and pans across the stills images. You have bridged the gap between creating an intresting story thats funny and a little absurd but fits well within the confinds of this documentary, plus its funny!Good effort, I'll have to check ouit more of these other films. read

  I have had this assignment on my list for a long time. I was putting off getting to it becasue I thought it was going to be pretty bad. I was pleasantly surprised. It's funny. It think, overall you caught the feel of an A&E biography. You did a good job and I'll probably end up searching to see if there are more.

  I must confess that when I was assigned this I groaned. The historical mockumenary on this site is probably become the biggest cliche, and they normally get less than a smile or two from me.This had an interesting angle. I prophet that looks too far in the future. Very intriguing and ripe with comedic potential. I liked it. Though it's not slapstick or comedy of the 'rib...   Nice narration in this piece. Good documentary look. This short is interesting and educational. Really nice edits and good use of archives. The music is really nice, used appropriately. The 'cell phone' reference is funny and really takes away from the almost totally professional take on this moment in history.....continued success...nice work!

  This is a great spoof of cheap historical documentaries - full of repeated pans across maps and paintings, and complete with a random talking head. The deadpan humour is also spot on - this is pretty much a one joke spoof, but the variations on that joke are consistently funny. All that's missing is a blurry smoke-filled 'reconstruction'...   I like this spoof. The professor character is very nice sitting in his office surrounded by frosted glass tiles. twistedmojo has a couple of others too I believe. I don't think you need my approval or censure; you've been named a contender for the highest prize this site offers, so I will just say congrats and keep 'em coming.

  hey guys, I really like this -- this kind of humor is totally my bag. This makes me want to check out your other stuff. One small question, and I'm not sure if it's been brought up before, I was wondering how you got the artwork... did you do it, or do you have the rrights to use it? Anyhow, who cares... like I said, I really liked this.
