  This film certainly wasn't what I expected,...it was even better. Nice edits and especially nice effects,....had never seen it used like that. The actor was good in that, showing how mundane like can really be. Good work all the way around,....look forward to seeing your future work,....you're so very good at interpretation,.....

  There were somethings that worked in this film. The photography was good, and the going from color to black and white worked nicely for me. You conveyed the boredoom of the characters life, the problem was I was getting bored watching it. The biggest problem for me was when the character lost his earing. My immediate reaction was why isn't he going to the hospital or seeing... There were somethings that worked in this film. The biggest problem for me was when the character lost his earing. My immediate reaction was why isn't he going to the hospital or seeing a doctor about his hearing problem. It was a nice twist that he could now see sounds, but the fact that he didn't see a doctor and just shut himself in his home, didn't seem realistic. read

  This is a really nice short. Very well written, and very well executed. The choice of lead was also a stroke of genius as he really lends his look well to this type of story. My only constructive criticism would be that I would have liked a little more action to push the story along as it gets a little slow in the middle and I have to remind myself to pay attention.   In the movie’s first half the director show us how boring is this man’s life. In my opinion this part is too long, too boring. Maybe it’s deliberate, bore the viewer as much as the protagonist. When the man becomes deaf, nothing changes. The boring life continues, he doesn’t do anything new until the magic lights come. I don’t know, maybe I haven’t gone into the poetry of...

  Loved the concept but did I love the outcome, yes and no. I love the fact that it left me feeling good, it had an arch and resolution. It moved a tad to slow for me. The writer and directors message was certainly understood. Although it probably means different things to different people, for me it was sometimes loosing doesn't necessarily mean a loss.

  I really don't know what this film was about. The story went nowhere and took forever to get there. The cinematography was passable and I think the best feature of the film was the actor's voice over. He had a very special quality to his voice. The creator of this film should define his story before he starts to shoot. In this film he never carved out the definition of his... I really don't know what this film was about.   Interesting!

  See What I Hear isn't flashy with it's cinematography, or deep and enticing with it's acting and direction, but it's quite interesting due to it's premise about a man that loses his hearing and opens up a whole new world he couldn't and wouldn't have ever imagined had that ailment not happened. Overall, because of this short story's intriguing nature, I found myself enjoying... See What I Hear isn't flashy with it's cinematography, or deep and enticing with it's acting and direction, but it's quite interesting due to it's premise about a man that loses his hearing and opens up a whole new world he couldn't and wouldn't have ever imagined had that ailment not happened.
  
  Overall, because of this short story's intriguing nature, I found myself enjoying this film.

  All in all I thought it was pretty solid. The basic concept was interesting but I think a bit more could have been done with it. You did a great job of establishing the feel for the film and I think that came across nicely. I would suggest possibly cutting a bit of exposition and focusing more on the protagonist's struggle with his problem. Some of the shots seemed a bit unnecessary... All in all I thought it was pretty solid. The basic concept was interesting but I think a bit more could have been done with it.
  You did a great job of establishing the feel for the film and I think that came across nicely. I would suggest possibly cutting a bit of exposition and focusing more on the protagonist's struggle with his problem.
  Some of the shots seemed a bit unnecessary as I think the same story could have been told in half the time.
  I was impressed by the writing overall, clever but not pretentious. Great job guys. read

  Creative idea for a story, with a lot of potential for interesting visuals! Your actor did a good job too. I found that he showed a nice well-rounded character, a guy stuck in a lousy job (and maybe relation) but who keeps going. The loss of hearing though seems to be the drop breaking the perseverance he had so far. However I might have paced the story a bit different, with... Creative idea for a story, with a lot of potential for interesting visuals! Your actor did a good job too. I found that he showed a nice well-rounded character, a guy stuck in a lousy job (and maybe relation) but who keeps going. However I might have paced the story a bit different, with less time focussed on his 'boring life' and more on what he in the end does with his new gift. The boring life all of us can at least imagine, the interesting part comes afterwards... unless you have a novel way of showing the boringness.
  
  I'm in dubio though, because I really like the photography of the first part. The shaving I thought was very well done, both for the photography and the actor. It shows the dedication of the character. The ending was nicely done too, and I like the gradual changes you made from and to black and white. Very subtle. Your work with focus is nice too.
  
  Something I thought could have been worked out in more detail, was the visual effect of the sound. Allthough the idea is really cool, it was too subtle, not gradual (unless I missed it) and always the same. In the end, when the main character is dancing, you touch a bit on the different ways of showing sound visually, but there's a lot more out there. For example, sound as waves, lines, circles, increasing and decreasing and touching on each other and other objects, in different rythm, intensity and pitch both visually and as actual sound. If you are looking for inspiration, check out some of the sound apps, if you have a device to play them.
  
  This is a very nice short, but I think it needs a lot more work where it concerns the base of the story, namely visualizing the sound. read

  This is a short film that shows some sophisticated, artistic composition in both shot flow and arrangement. It has a subtle quality, one that draws you in, with a personable and empathic character who finds himself living a compelling dilemma. The editing is well done. The sound editing as well.   The one overly extended moment, to this reviewer, a moment which doesn’t add but lessens, what up until that point is a engaging narrative, is the bizarre dancing/transition scene. We get what has happened, the glow around the feet, the fantastic touch of the spoons with light (that’s particularly captivating and beautiful), all that sets the tone and the necessary plot. This addition shot is so out of sync with the rest of the quiet tone of the film one wonders if it’s an effective choice, whereas the same expression of joy could have been captured in a single expressive close up.
  
  There's an expression: gilding the lilly. This is, over emphasizing what is already beautiful in its own right.
  
  This moment aside, See What I Hear is a thoughtful, nuanced and creative short film that is a pleasure to watch. read
