  This is a great short. The cinematography is well done. I noticed a few little things, but the mood was very well executed. It started simply with a nice build to abstraction. Loved the up the stairs shot. The girl coming out of the pool was awesomely done in cinematography, acting and direction. The story was good. Personally, I would have liked to see a bit more on... This is a great short.

  The story was good. Personally, I would have liked to see a bit more on the set-up. Let the suspense build a bit more before seeing "her".
  
  The editing was pretty tight.
  
  Two things that bothered me a bit were the music and the change from sepia to black and white. The music was a long drone of the same bass-y feel. It could have a bit more of a build. The sepia change from inside to outside was distracting. If we never saw out a window during the interior shots it would not be so bad, I think.
  
  Regardless, this was a great, well executed short. read

  Nice project in a great location, and yes we would all like to have away with estate agents! I will list some problems I had first, The music was a touch irritating only at the start. The location was good but it did not feel scary, and the use of close ups and hand held openers didn't work for me. I liked the cellar scenes, and technically it was good, I liked the possession... Nice project in a great location, and yes we would all like to have away with estate agents! I will list some problems I had first, The music was a touch irritating only at the start.   Interesting little horror flick

  There's a lot to enjoy here. Some nice camera angles set a good feeling of being watched. Some of the framing didn't feel quite right. I felt I was seeing too much of the ground whilst looking at the house. Some other shots would have been nice when the car was driving up to the house. An interior shot maybe in the car. Obvious parrallels to the Japanese horrors were evident... There's a lot to enjoy here. Some nice camera angles set a good feeling of being watched. Some of the framing didn't feel quite right.   Obvious parrallels to the Japanese horrors were evident. The music was a bit irritating. I think all it needed was a few chimes and atmospheric horns or something with foley. Sometimes silence can be terrifying.
  
  Great work, I think you could improve on this just by adding a couple of shots and dialing down the music. Keep up the good work. read

  This was a pretty cool house, but as a film was terribly lacking IMHO. I have been there, seeing a place and saying "Wow, I need to film something here". It's good to follow up when we are motivated to do something, but I have learned, and this film reminds me, that we need a motivated story first. This had some clever shots, but overall the fact that you thought the setting... This was a pretty cool house, but as a film was terribly lacking IMHO.   This had some clever shots, but overall the fact that you thought the setting was so cool is what really came through in the film. There was no background. No real story. No motivations for character actions. It all just seemed like they were there to showcase the setting. The use of B&W, while it will win you some points with people that just love anything B&W, just seems like a cheap exploit here to cover problems with your color shooting perhaps. The lack of dialogue will also win points with some people, most notably those that insist film is a strictly 'visual' storytelling tool. To me, using all the tools at your disposal makes sense if you are trying to tell a story. There are of course situations where foregoing the use of sound or color can add a certain texture to the film, but here it seems to me there was nothing to be gained for the film, only for your own ease. I appreciate your effort in putting this together and following your promptings. That's always good, and as I said, there are interesting aspects here that demonstrate some talent. It's just that the good pieces are just good pieces. They don't add up to a good film. best of luck. read

  I must admit for the first half of the film I was unimpressed. Too many wide shots even though the location was great. The haunted house started to come alive in the second as the film maker picked up his game. Some very good (experimental type) shots. The girl was very good in her part. Loved the entire pool scene.   My only complaint was that the two male leads looked a little to modern in their clothes.
  
  I imagine this Director could make a decent horror film if he had the budget.
  
  Overall: Well done. Would like to see it make it into one of the TS Festivals. read

  Had Me Looking Over My Shoulder!

  "Stay With Me" is definitely a scary film. Set in black & white and with a creepy (almost 'Tubular Bells'-like) musical score, it had me looking over my shoulder as I watched it at my desk in the basement! The startling images of the girl sent a jolt through me and the cellar scenes take the film over the top. Well done, true horror film.

  Looked beautiful, managed to be very creepy on whatever shoestring budget you had, and although not entirely innovative, you were somewhat creative with the setting and story you had. Best thing I can say about this, is how professional it looked. Would love to see you be daring and use your obvious artistic style with a fresh, quirky storyline.

  I really liked the look of this film. The b/w 16mm film looked great. there are a lot of really interesting shots in this piece as well, which makes it more enjoyable to watch. however, the idea of this short falls short in my opinion. It's a very unoriginal idea, and unfortunately has all of your typical cheap thrills. The girl looks too much like the girl from the ring,... I really liked the look of this film. It's a very unoriginal idea, and unfortunately has all of your typical cheap thrills. The girl looks too much like the girl from the ring, and I'm sure I'm not the first to say that. Unfortunately she's about 10 times less scary too. The scene where the main character sees her through the window is about as generic and set up as it gets. And of course, it all takes place in a scary looking house. It's really too bad that these days, horror has been resorted to a 'scary looking' girl, loud music swells and fast cuts, and a scary haunted house that's possessed. Definitely use that DP again though, he's got some chops. read

  This film is a shining example of what you can do with minimalist horror. You played with the psychological angle and get the same scare factor that people dole out big bucks for in the gore department. If you haven't taken this around to festivals yet, I'd say get moving because you have a genuinely outstanding movie on your hands. Suffice to say, I loved it. Where to... Where to begin?: you couldn't have chosen a better score for this film, the music is really effective. The cinematography was top-notch, the use of light -especially in the staircase scene and the cellar scene- was beautiful. And what a location! That pool in the house was crazy. Which brings me, quickly, to my only complaint with this film. It's a small one: the reaction shot on him when she comes out of the water is too long and too wide. You should've been tighter on his face, and cut the length in half. Make it as jarring as the rest of the sound cuts you have in the rest of your film. The 'spirit' girl was brilliantly cast. She looked great on film. This is a really stylish piece that I don't know everyone would enjoy, but I thought was extremely well-done. Great work. Really looking forward to seeing more of your films. Hope they're just as good. Thanks for sharing. read

  This remined me too much of the movie The Grudge, It was shot very well almost flawless as to no mistakes and I always look.I did get lost as to why he punched the guy and then was in the basement in the dark.I liked it if this film was a little longer I think it would have killed it.
