  Great use of stop motion and sound design to create a creepy, intriguing and sometimes humorous short. It is amazing to see how much you were able to do with the simple action of carving a pumpkin. The small gags sprinkled throughout such as the goop dripping out of the pumpkins eyes were great and well spaced. Everything was perfect except for the effects (shaking camera,... Everything was perfect except for the effects (shaking camera, etc.) which were completely unnecessary, in my opinion. Overall great job though, I was thoroughly entertained throughout. read

  The quality of the file didn't play too smoothly for me so to a degree it distracted me from a great viewing. I thought the camera work, editing and sound design were all excellent. The only element I found lacking was a gripping tale. Maybe the pumpkin should have had a fellow pumpkin friend. Nonetheless, I think it's evident there is a great deal of talent around this short... The quality of the file didn't play too smoothly for me so to a degree it distracted me from a great viewing. I thought the camera work, editing and sound design were all excellent.   I enjoyed the hell out of this piece. Nice use of stop motion and sound effects. Visually striking and goofy. I see this has already been a featured submission, but it could be one of those Halloween videos worth watching annually, kind of like The Wizard of Oz around Christmas. Kudos to the director.

  Some good shots, less coherent than the video nasty film you made. The soundtrack started off good but needed changing at some point. Some of the shots/edits were great - the eyes gushing after being cut and the knife forming the mouth on its own, very nice. But I found some shots too repetitive and distracting. Overall a good example or lesson in editing/special effects but... Some good shots, less coherent than the video nasty film you made.   That was an intriguing look at the process a pumkin goes through to get carved. The editing was great and would like to know how you made everything move by itself. The resolution could've been better but I think that's something with the quicktime upload. The music was good. It went right along with the film and kept everything moving. Great job.

  Wow, I am completely blown away by this movie, and wish I could do something like it! From the credits to the end, this kept my eyes glued to the screen, and I'm afraid that I really can't find anything to criticize. I liked the use of stop motion and the incredible effects of the pumpkin pulp boiling out of the cuts. You managed to turn the very ordinary event of carving... Wow, I am completely blown away by this movie, and wish I could do something like it!
  
  From the credits to the end, this kept my eyes glued to the screen, and I'm afraid that I really can't find anything to criticize.

  How do I begin? I thought this short was interesting. The graphics were truly on point. This felt like it should have been a horror story. I'm watching films in a basement and kept looking over my shoulder expecting something, anything to jump out at me. I felt the suspense lingering. I've never carved a pumpkin before but I seem to be looking forward to it now. I thought... How do I begin? I thought this short was interesting. The graphics were truly on point. This felt like it should have been a horror story. I'm watching films in a basement and kept looking over my shoulder expecting something, anything to jump out at me. I felt the suspense lingering. I've never carved a pumpkin before but I seem to be looking forward to it now. I thought the short was well put together. The ending was some what expected but in the same enjoyable to watch you develop the ending. Kudos. read

  I like the effect you were doing. The whole stop/motion thing was interesting compared to a lot of the crap you watch on this site. But did you want to do it to do it to the human too? I feel like the contract would have been interesting as the pumpkin was moving at a jittery pace and the human was moving and normal pace. I feel like to stop/motion everything made it get...

But i don't know Stop/Motion so maybe I sound dumnber than usual.
  
  Also, why was the pumpkin crying if he had no insides to come out through his eyes. And why would he eat the seeds if the seeds could be taken back out. Obviously this was art that doesn't need a literal interpretation. I mean you take time to show the human walking into the room. And the drawer of silverware filling up and emptying. And then you take the time to show the seeds being spread around and cooking and cooking and cooking some more. So obviously this is just you testing out this technology.
  
  But good use or sounds and great pacing. And this was uploaded in '08 so i hope you have better stuff now. read

  Really good job on the stop motion. Having attempted it in the past i understand how painstaking it can be and your patients definitely shows in the final product. I enjoyed the piece too, especially the stuff flowing out the eyes. My only grip would be the video quality but being the first film i've watched on the site i'm not sure if thats an uploader problem or if the whole... Really good job on the stop motion.   The two words that kept coming to mind while viewing this video were creative and ingenious. It was more than a collection of interesting or cutesy shots. It was obvious from the beginning that thought and planning went in to this venture. The combination of still shots and animation maintained flow and interest. Several pumpkins must have been used in filming, yet that... The two words that kept coming to mind while viewing this video were creative and ingenious. It was more than a collection of interesting or cutesy shots. It was obvious from the beginning that thought and planning went in to this venture. The combination of still shots and animation maintained flow and interest. Several pumpkins must have been used in filming, yet that never became a detriment. The weeping eyes, "rebelling" seeds and scooping of the interior as though ripping out the pumpkin's guts added a sinister, Halloween feel without losing the element of fun. Trying to find a message here is probably wasted effort. The focus was always on the process, animation, and fun. The entire piece was well lighted, well paced, and developed a personality all its own. read
