  So it was a little too cute for my personal taste, but everything about it was spot-on. The cinematography looked terrific - especially considering this was all mini-DV in low light. Major kudos to your camera crew. The direction showed an attention to mood and rhythm far above the Trigger average. Editing was key to this, as the pacing and narrative were flawlessly handled... Really a well-done mood piece. Personally I would have steered more towards humor than sentiment, but that's far from a flaw. With a good script this crew could make a very fine feature. read

  While “Third Base” summed up your short very well, the comedy description for film category did not. Drama and romance were more apropos your film. As a romance, I enjoyed this short. I felt I came into a sub-story within a much larger film. The actors did a great job and the look and feel of the film kept me engaged. It was directed very well and as a filmmaker piece,...   As a romance, I enjoyed this short. I felt I came into a sub-story within a much larger film. The actors did a great job and the look and feel of the film kept me engaged. It was directed very well and as a filmmaker piece, I say bravo. Some may complain that this was a little dark, but I would disagree. The darkness fit the mood.
  
  The issues I had with this film was with the writing. If this is indeed a comedy, then many opportunities were missed. The movie the two teens were watching should have reflected more of what was going on between the two characters. I felt the only reason why “Night of the Living Dead” was chosen was for the scream when the lead asks, “did you have an orgasm yet?” Not strong enough to bring laughs.
  
  I would challenge you to heighten your comedy. What are all the things that can go wrong during this scene? Interruptions, being caught, mom and dad in the theater, etc. Also, smelling the finger was great, but this has to be a payoff to something earlier for the big laughs. Every guy has done this and there was a missed opportunity to connect with the male audience out there.
  
  All in all, this was enjoyable, but not competition material.

  Very nice little piece and very funny, and, in some aspects, can be even realistic. The story is simple but very well told, the acting s very good, nice casting. The camera work very interesting due to the location and the editing good. It's less than 5 minutes but with perfect timing.

  What I could see of this movie I liked. A touching tale of young love, tenderly and sensitively handled. Shooting in a cinema is always going to create lighting challanges, but these challanges are compounded by the restictions of screen size and resolution. It is a shame that having re-submitted this project that these settings hadn't been tweaked for on-line viewing, since... What I could see of this movie I liked. It is a shame that having re-submitted this project that these settings hadn't been tweaked for on-line viewing, since I am sure I won't be the first, or last, reviewer to focus on this issue. The nice performances and pace of the piece were assessed through the audio rather than the visuals. read

  Nice piece. The actors carried the piece pretty well. The story was simple but effective for a short piece. I loved the use of the movie soundtrack for what seemed to be an uncomfortable experience for these two lovebirds. Nice camera work. Beautiful lighting. From the low lighting in the theatre to the neon lights in reflecting off the actors, it was well done. It easily... Nice piece. The actors carried the piece pretty well. The story was simple but effective for a short piece. I loved the use of the movie soundtrack for what seemed to be an uncomfortable experience for these two lovebirds.

  I liked the idea behind this film. You did a good job with the cuts/edits, and I'm glad to see that you got permission to use the audio from the Romero flick. The biggest problem I had with this, though, was the sound of the actors' voices. I could barely make out (no pun intended) what they were saying, especially against the audio from the movie. The lighting wasn't that great, either, I don't think it should have been that dark all the way through, though I understand why. Finally, the actors did a very convincing job presenting this as a first-time experience for both. Nicely done, I really did enjoy the way you put this together, with a very sweet ending. read

  I really liked this short. It looked great, the sound was good, performance strong, writing was believable and the direction was tight. A great little film about the akwardness of our (all of us) first sexual experiences. difinantely one of the best shorts I have seen on this site. Keep up the good work.

  Right from the start, I loved this film. Short but so well done. The acting was beautiful (and I could easily see how unexperienced actors could have butchered these scenes). The writing was fantastic also (again I could see how it could have been done in a way that wasn't funny or awkward, but just downright weird). Overall, I loved it, and I can't wait to see what other... Right from the start, I loved this film. Short but so well done.   This short film had an interesting story. It was well paced and the shot construction was nicely structured. The characters were developed well in that the innocence of their youth and their hopeful romantic relationship is evident. The camera angles were good and helped create the tension and the nervousness the scenes resonated so effectively. A reasonably well made short... This short film had an interesting story.   This was a great short! A kind telling of what a sweet guy's first time to 3rd base might be like. The "Dawn of the Dead" playing in the background was a great touch too! The insecurities of both the boy and the girl were refreshing to see, especially in today's jaded idea of what sex is about. All in all, a very sweet story, funny and ackward. I did enjoy watching this film,... This was a great short! A kind telling of what a sweet guy's first time to 3rd base might be like.
