  This was a pretty decently done little film, followinwg on its not terribly original premise with some quite interesting scriptwriting. I thought the conversation had many nuggets of truth and insight into humanity in general that gave this film a gloss that made it superior to many in this genre. The acting wasn’t the best part of the film, it would have been nice to see professionals...   So she's been collecting bottles for 4 generations but she can't wait on this guy to have any kids I guess? Anyway, a well shot little film, though it held no real surprises. As for the 'film' look, I don't know how badly the compression hurt (probably pretty bad at 8 minutes), but it looked seriously degraded to me. Of course, I happen to appreciate the clarity of mini-DV,... So she's been collecting bottles for 4 generations but she can't wait on this guy to have any kids I guess?
  
  Anyway, a well shot little film, though it held no real surprises. As for the 'film' look, I don't know how badly the compression hurt (probably pretty bad at 8 minutes), but it looked seriously degraded to me. Of course, I happen to appreciate the clarity of mini-DV, though I understand the need to satisfy our ingrained expectations. Obvious production values here. Good shot selection, editing, and pace. Audio was decent except for one bad VO when she leaves the kitchen area and in the visual she is clearly not speaking. Kudos on getting this done. Best of luck. read

  This was interesting, good pacing throughout. However, when the girl stressed his heart beat and blood, the thought occurred to me that this might be another vampire movie. And lo and behold, it was and a disappointment. Vampire is so done to death. The many bottles of previous victims was an original twist. The actors did well in their roles, the dialog is realistic,... This was interesting, good pacing throughout. Camera work was strange with the excess red, unless that's the lighting on the actors. I would suggest a different ending to truly surprise the audience. read

  I recieved this short film as assignment from the Hall of Justice. It wouldn't upload (which is true, unfortunately). So I went to their website following the link provided and watched it; I am now here to review it (what a journey uh.) Ok here we go. First of all, well done. It looks like was low budget but there was a lot of heart in it, and you did a good job overall, so... I recieved this short film as assignment from the Hall of Justice. First of all, well done. It looks like was low budget but there was a lot of heart in it, and you did a good job overall, so well done for that. The story is good, though slightly predictable. Moreover, from the synopsis we read something that implies he's not gonna make it through the night, so to speak. But I was surprised to read about the 4th generation thing, which doesn't come out at all from watching the short. And that to me is a bit misleading. On a technical note, editing was very good, powerful and solid; I quite enjoyed it. Camera work was good. At times I'd have preferred more tripod-based shots on CUs than just hand held (or so it seemed to me). I was not really convinced by the lighting I have to say.. It was good, but too many wide shots would clearly show where the liights were placed, kinda no-no (i.e. strong shadows) Diffusion, ND filters would have helped. Also, on some shots I found some colour temperature issues (light hit the subject too strong). Nice job. read

  As much as I hate to stereotype movies, I'd have to say this is one stereotypical vampire movie. the overall look of the film is a good one, as you have noted in your notes. I assume that this main guy Jon is the decendent of the Jonathon Harker? Maybe try to bring that idea out a bit more. Overall a good film.

  This was a really strange experience. After watching your film and having my mind made up about it, I read the production notes and find the extreme opposite in it. Here goes: I give you a nice twist for your movie in the end, not a bad basic idea. And the acting was taken seriously, that much I also give you. But I have major issues with the look of your film. Much too bright lighting is one. Total 80s look is another; the costumes, make-up and hair were awfully retro. And the camerawork was totally uneffective for me, not enough tripod usage, but it propably suffered from the lighting. As for the writing, your set-up is way, WAY too long. Cut out 3 or four minutes of babbling and it will gain greatly. The teeth did not surprise me at all, I knew this is a vampire flick about a minute before she bit him. Predictability is very bad in a case like this. Sorry, don't want to be rude, but I didn't like it that much, even though it is not at all among the worst I've seen on TS. read

  Loved the look of this whole movie. Editing and shots were very good. Thought the build up took a little too long. The music helped move this story along but it still lagged. At the point where I really thought that she was going to kill him (the plastic on the bed) I thought she was actually going to rip him apart. But that twist got me. Ahhhh a vampire movie.   The acting is okay as well as the dialogue. I really didn't care for the girl, the guy was more natural. The edits are nice. The camerawork is pretty good. The shot when her fangs come out was pretty cool. The story was interesting. I would have expected for the guy to really show that he was in pain when the girl bit him, wasn't very convincing.   Well done , great acting by the female lead, great special effects, nice editing. You certainly know how to make an entertaining film. My constructive criticism- the title and the male leads 'too good to be true' attitude make this film way to predictable... you just know she is up to no good. I also know she might be a vampire too early. I would definately change the title... Well done , great acting by the female lead, great special effects, nice editing.   Well, I agree with your statements about proper lighting and post effects being the crux of a good movie, and your movie does look very good, even as highly compressed as it is. However, I believe that the "real art" is in the writing. Without an interesting plot or intriguing characters to drive your story forward you have a lot of window dressing. I'm not saying that's... However, I believe that the "real art" is in the writing. Without an interesting plot or intriguing characters to drive your story forward you have a lot of window dressing. I'm not saying that's the case here entirely, however, any sort of plot twist would have been much better. You know what's going to happen about two minutes into an eight minute movie, that makes it hard to sustain the viewer's attention. You say that there's a feature length idea here but I fail to see it. read
