  Let me say right up front I love 'B' rated movies from the start. They are the ones that are done from a passion and toss in cheesy moments like talking directly into the camera or spiking the camera. This is a short I enjoyed for its lack of whatever it is that makes a really great film. This is a 'movie'. The story is ridiculous, the characters over-act, the props are fake...   This is a short I enjoyed for its lack of whatever it is that makes a really great film. This is a 'movie'. The story is ridiculous, the characters over-act, the props are fake and is just plain fun to watch.
  I was thinking 'adult theme' with the opening scene and was pleasantly laughing almost with every minute that past.
  I think you did what you were wanting to accomplish and it was a B-Movie that I would have to watch all the way through if it was feature length.
  Thank you for not pretending you were making the next block-buster. You hit your target market. read

  Interesting and well done, but I couldn't really get into it. At the end I was confused as to whether she ends up getting killed or what, since he seems to evil and only relates to corpses. I thought you did a great job with the over-the-top characters, they were wild and wacky. Great hair (and lack of it) and makeup. I noticed the "joins" in the "body" you were obviously... Interesting and well done, but I couldn't really get into it. At the end I was confused as to whether she ends up getting killed or what, since he seems to evil and only relates to corpses.
  
  I thought you did a great job with the over-the-top characters, they were wild and wacky. Great hair (and lack of it) and makeup.
  
  I noticed the "joins" in the "body" you were obviously using a dummy rather than a real body (LOL) but since we don't get in too close it would have been good to obscure the joins in some way.

  Heart Attack was... an odd one to say the least. It was clearly just a light hearted (pardon the pun) short. In terms of production values they were solid, the actress was a better performer than the actor I must say. Nevertheless, it was a fun short film. Keep up the good work.

  I thought it was cute and funny. Very simple, but very fun loving. I like movies that tug at your heart strings and tap your funny bone at the same time. When she tossed the heart and said it was broken, I nearly lost my cookies! Very funny. Good Job!

  Warren, I have to be honest, this film is very absent of a cinematic feel. I got the feeling that any given moment, cheesy jazz would kick in, clothes would drop and a REAL sex scene was about to take place. This definitely had the feel of 70s and 80s pornography with weak story lines (ex. Teacher tells student he's in a trouble for not bringing a BIG PENCIL to his test.)... Warren,
  
  I have to be honest, this film is very absent of a cinematic feel. I got the feeling that any given moment, cheesy jazz would kick in, clothes would drop and a REAL sex scene was about to take place.   I'm not really sure what the overall story was here and the actors were very amateur. Please know, that my criticism isn't to be harsh, but to be honest. I just don't feel that we the viewer got any real reason as to why the nurse wanted to sleep with the mortician so desperately, or why he was awkwardly hesitant to do so. Again, I'm not really sure what you wanted the viewer to walk away with.
  
  Big question before I go. Why was the actress constantly looking into the camera? I understand it was intentional on the directors part, but why? I've seen this done many times and it is usually used in a context that doesn't appear out of place. For instance, Zack Morris on Saved By The Bell would look into camera and speak to the viewer in the middle of a scene.
  
  Anyhow, these are merely my opinions. Perhaps the film speaks to others and I may just be missing something.

  Writer/Director Warren Paul Glover brilliantly straddles the world of porn and parody in this "romantic" comedy about a mortician's attempt at balancing his profession and desire. Hilarious comic performances propel this comedy as the female cardiologist with romantic designs on a mortician, are kept at bay by a mortician's overwhelming connection to his "body" of work... Writer/Director Warren Paul Glover brilliantly straddles the world of porn and parody in this "romantic" comedy about a mortician's attempt at balancing his profession and desire.
  
  Hilarious comic performances propel this comedy as the female cardiologist with romantic designs on a mortician, are kept at bay by a mortician's overwhelming connection to his "body" of work.
  
  In the end, for the main character at least, the body has more of a drawl than the heart. read

  I have to admit that, on the first pass, this seemed a lot like an adult film that drops out right before the part anyone cares about. The lighting, the pacing, and the discrepancy in the physical appearance of the two protagonists, all spoke to everything my mid teens taught me about good cinema. On the second pass, I saw a lot more in it. First, there were a... I have to admit that, on the first pass, this seemed a lot like an adult film that drops out right before the part anyone cares about.   On the second pass, I saw a lot more in it.
  First, there were a couple of really good lines (I liked her aside). I also liked that, during the kiss, you cut away from the main action to show her leg raised, and his feet trying to break free. That was probably my favorite camera work in the piece (not at all hurt by the attractive protagonist).
  However, I think that the piece was a little underwritten; that might go a long way to explain the fairly jarring edits in the middle. I think you could have used a little more "over the top" organ removal to give it continuity. It might also have benefitted from some inane (equally inappropriate) small talk while he whipped out a few more organs.
  Finally, I think that the acting underserved the material. Apart from his (Gregory's) amazingly creepy wink at the end, I didn't get enough of the melodrama out of the delivery to really sell what (I assume) was going on here. When he kissed the "corpse" (also very creepy), WHAT she said ("That's a coward's love.") was so crazy as to be genuinely amazing, but she played it a little too straight. There was too much genuine anger. The line is pleading for him to give up the corpse and go for her, but she plays it as if she's mad at him. Whereas, I think, the delivery shouldn't have had anger but, rather, desperation and longing.
  I think it could be a genuinely funny piece, but I'm afraid that it just feels under-executed. read
