  The writing is very smooth. I wonder why the narrator had chosen to put up with his wife for thirteen years and never divorced her if the marriage had been so bad. He thought the PA had instructed him to kill his wife as his mother had died ten years ago. I wondered where he had found the courage to plot and kill his wife when he didn't have the same courage to divorce her... The writing is very smooth. I wonder why the narrator had chosen to put up with his wife for thirteen years and never divorced her if the marriage had been so bad. He thought the PA had instructed him to kill his wife as his mother had died ten years ago. I wondered where he had found the courage to plot and kill his wife when he didn't have the same courage to divorce her. A divorce would be a better option instead of committing a murder.
  
  But in the end the PA had somehow served his purpose when the narrator finally asked for a divorce after he was left flabberghasted when the PA called and demanded he abandoned his plan at the crucial moment when he was about to carry out the crime.
  
  I was confused about the true meaning of the PA's words. The last part when the narrator mentioned stumbling upon her mother with another man and got slapped by her, 'the original Witch had finally emerged from behind my shattered reverence', what does that mean? What did the PA want the narrtor to do when he asked him to kill his mother? Maybe my English is not very good but I still couldn't figure it out. read

  What an amazing story. I absolutely enjoyed it! The author does a great job of setting the scene and while the characters are in many ways quite clichéd, the mad wife, the stranger who could be the devil, the angry husband, it all comes together at the end. The best part is that you never really know what exactly happened. Was there a stranger? Or did the main character make... What an amazing story. I absolutely enjoyed it!   Completely different from how I expected it to be.

  You have woven a wonderful, paranormal mystery. By page 2, I was wondering if the PA is dead - cold, footsteps making no sound - or just a creepy guy. "It could not possibly belong to someone harbouring a single evil thought." - I was immediately convinced that he was wrong, but it turned out that he was right! I think you built the story up so that everyone thought the PA... You have woven a wonderful, paranormal mystery. By page 2, I was wondering if the PA is dead - cold, footsteps making no sound - or just a creepy guy. "It could not possibly belong to someone harbouring a single evil thought." - I was immediately convinced that he was wrong, but it turned out that he was right! I think you built the story up so that everyone thought the PA was the devil, but he turned out to be an angel/Jesus/something else good/something imaginary.
  
  My first thought about the protagonist's relationships was, "Why on earth did the guy dump that amazing woman for a big-breasted redhead? Does he just get bored easily?" Not until right at the end, when I understood about his mother, did this make any sense - which is brilliant.
  
  The way the man dressed reminded me of the way the Personal Aide dressed, but the effect, as described in the next paragraph, is quite different. I like that. I like the continuing use of roses. The ending is so sweet, and made me quite emotional. I love dogs, and I love his dog.
  
  Couple of small nitpicks:
  "The keys to a motel room I’d rented an hour earlier, rattled impatiently
  in my jacket pocket with my every step." - I wouldn't bother with a comma, as I wouldn't pause there when reading or thinking that line.
  "I've pulled out a pair of surgical rubber gloves" - should just be "I" because you're not writing in the present tense.
  
  Overall, this is a great story; very emotive and effective. Well done! read

  Your skill set is extremely strong. Great way to draw us into the story. I did not stumble across any grammar and/or punctual issues. My trouble here that what you chose to spend your energy on describing. I could really care less about the rope in that length of detail. I found myself getting bored and wanted you to get onto the STORY! You have a strong prose-- an amazing... Your skill set is extremely strong. Great way to draw us into the story. I found myself getting bored and wanted you to get onto the STORY! You have a strong prose-- an amazing ability to explain with words. The setup of the story was strong-- the payoff lagged! The whole "kill your mother" thing was just too vague. I felt I missed something when AP called and told him he didn't understand. Then after the divorce, we learn of a trauma that has either subconsciously or not stuck in his head. Did he kill his mother? I didn't make the connection. I figured that somehow the wife and the mother were similar due to the hazel eyes. Other than that I got nothing else.
  
  This isn't an attack on your writing! You use great poetry and rhythm. Now use your skill set to tell me a good story where the lines meet and payoffs exist. read

  The story is about a man who is having problems with his wife. He has a devil of a time until the divorce . . . The storyline is straight and true with no lapse or pause. The storyline is designed to deliver a message and does it well. The spell checker was used and the sentence and paragraph structures were maintained.   The genre listing for this threw me way off, I thought it was, and it started out as, a drama/mystery/suspense story about a guy who plans to kill his wife. But it really came off more as a comedy about an ineffectual doofus, like the guy William Macy did such a great job on in Fargo. I thought the scene in the motel, with the rope and the chair and showering wife was hilarious... The genre listing for this threw me way off, I thought it was, and it started out as, a drama/mystery/suspense story about a guy who plans to kill his wife. But it really came off more as a comedy about an ineffectual doofus, like the guy William Macy did such a great job on in Fargo. I thought the scene in the motel, with the rope and the chair and showering wife was hilarious. I'd like to see this reworked, as a comedy, and without the personal aide. I made some notes in the beginning, when I thought I was reading a straight murder mystery, but most of what I was critical about turns out to be perfectly fine comedy. Good luck. read

  This was a very imaginative tale but ended hastily at first it was well done and drawn out leisurely leading up to the action which gets going on page 13-14 then suddenly it is ending. I kind of felt cheated because the writing style was so good and was hoping for some great and profound realisation the style is well done early on the formatting good and the concept and...

  the style is well done early on the formatting good and the concept and way it is done is enticing and draws one in to the read.

  I decided to review this story because I liked the description. I want to say it has a unique writing style which I enjoy and it is entertaining. THe structure is great and I did not notice a single mistake in all 22 pages. The description used was terrific. The characters seemed rich and well devoloped. The story was a little slow for my taste but still good. Good concept... I decided to review this story because I liked the description. The only thing I could suggest is maybe increase the pacing but it is probably just me and most readers might not have an issue. Good job and keep on writing and good luck read

  Let me tie it around your neck! The Knot is a most interesting tale. The narrator is caught in a loveless marriage and is becoming a psychological wreck. As he mulls over the idea of taking his life, he spots an ad in a newspaper promising help for just his kind of situation. In order to get help, one must have tried everything else, failed, and given up all hope. Thus it... Let me tie it around your neck! The Knot is a most interesting tale. The narrator is caught in a loveless marriage and is becoming a psychological wreck. As he mulls over the idea of taking his life, he spots an ad in a newspaper promising help for just his kind of situation. In order to get help, one must have tried everything else, failed, and given up all hope.
  
  Thus it came about that he calls a Personal Aide, who quickly tells him not to lie and to follow all instructions to the letter. The price? No money, but the cost will be more than he can afford.
  
  To make this review shorter, our protagonist is told to kill his mother. Since his real mother is dead, our hero takes this to mean his wife, whom he then plans to murder. All of a sudden, everything works like a charm. Previously clumsy fingers work quickly, with an expert's flare. The plan comes to the moment of truth, when he gets a phone call from his P.A., telling him he lied, he's wrong, his wife is not his mother and good-bye!
  
  What happens next is very interesting and most unexpected for me. The Knot would make a good Twilight Zone episode.
  
  There are a few spelling gaffes and The Knot needs a copyediting workover on that score. Nothing really glaring, but it will help give The Knot a professional shine. Punctuation seems fine to me.

  Hi, great story! I was a bit sceptical at first because I do not like flashbacks but I was pleasantly surprised. The entering scene set the mood for th P.A. and it was fitting perfectly. Also I liked it that his disguise (when he wants to pick up his wife from the train) resembles that of the P.A. It gives the whole story another mysterious touch. I like the way everything... Hi,
