  This was a fun read. Told in first person the author describes in detail how a certain song played on his early-morning drivetime radio station began to annoy him to the point where he had to take action. Actions have consequences as he found out when his complaints to the radio station resulted in the offending song being replaced by new songs This story could be expanded... This was a fun read.

  I am very reluctant to use Excellent in any review, as there is always room for improvement, but your writing style has blown me away! You have hit the Excellent mark in every catagory! You have indulged me in great pleasure with this short story! You took what could have been a boring idea and made it fascinating! The way you described your thought process, your feelings,...   You have indulged me in great pleasure with this short story! You took what could have been a boring idea and made it fascinating! The way you described your thought process, your feelings, and everything within the story were a display of excellent writing! I cannot rave enough about this one! Of course, my favorite author is Charlotte Bronte, and it felt like being swept away by a reincarnation of her masterful writing!
  
  I, too, understand the dependence on talk radio. About 11 years ago, I had a 20 mile commute and it was made so much more endurable with the great stories of Paul Harvey. That said, your theme hit familiar notes with me from the start, but it was only your style and execution that made this one great! I was thrilled by the use of Pavlov's dog....I think you could handle any form of writing and make it exceptional. Well done! read

  The story has the feel of a blog and as such gives the impression that it's a quick note to self,about nothing much in particular - in this case an annoying song on the radio. I read it three times, put the story down and went for a coffee. It was then I realised what the author was getting at here - the hatred of something, the prejudice against a benign topic, saying more... The story has the feel of a blog and as such gives the impression that it's a quick note to self,about nothing much in particular - in this case an annoying song on the radio.
  I read it three times, put the story down and went for a coffee. It was then I realised what the author was getting at here - the hatred of something, the prejudice against a benign topic, saying more about the listener than the tune. It's a refreshing way to put the topic across but if it were my story I would have injected some friction along the way. Some consequence of the hatred rather than just changing the tune, but that may just be me.

  I really liked the start of this story; it sets the scene and the protagonist perfectly. I especially liked the idea of the radio presenters being passengers in his car with him, and the way the seemingly innocuous music gradually drove him to distraction. “My elation seemed to bathe the inside of my car in a nebulous glow” – loved that line. However, I found the second half... I really liked the start of this story; it sets the scene and the protagonist perfectly.   “My elation seemed to bathe the inside of my car in a nebulous glow” – loved that line.
  
  However, I found the second half – following his phone call with the host – a bit too anecdotal for my liking (I know, it says it’s anecdotal in the synopsis – but I’m an idiot okay).
  
  I think there was a lot of potential in this story for you to take things down a more psychologically sinister path (for some reason I kept on thinking of the Spielberg film ‘Duel’ whilst I read it). The protagonists (imagined) relationship with the hosts, his increasing obsession with the song and the hosts indifference to everything when he finally confronts him – all these things point to a more ominous outcome.
  
  To be honest I was expecting the protagonist to embark on a kind of emotional descent as things progressed (which may be says more about my state of mind than his/yours ☺). It’s as though the interior of his car was an extension of his mind, and there’s a lot of possibilities to explore from that angle.
  
  Overall: Great start, but became a bit too anecdotal – nothing a small dose of criminal insanity wouldn’t cure. read

Opening paragraph seems to be a critique of morning radio shows. It summarizes the narrator’s feelings about radio shows. In the second paragraph we get more detail in talking about Travis T.   Opening paragraph seems to be a critique of morning radio shows. It summarizes the narrator’s feelings about radio shows.
  
  In the second paragraph we get more detail in talking about Travis T. Hipp. You may want to open with this since the narrator seems to have a relationship with this radio personality.
  
  Page 3 halfway through the second paragraph, “I began to talk back to the Thursday...” this description could be turned into a dialogue between the narrator and the radio personality. The rising conflict between the personality and narrator could work really well. It’s better to show than tell.
  
  When the narrator changes their mind about the “Take 5” rip off song it could’ve led to conflict between Travis and the narrator. The story has a humorous tone and the potential conflict between the narrator and Travis (the narrator’s radio idol) could’ve been funny.
  
  Summary should be used sparingly. It’s always better to show than tell unless you need to advance the plot.
  
  Enjoyed the story and overall tone but felt like it kinda fizzled out in the last two pages. read
