A review of Thugsby stephenlenane on 12/04/2011Format – Elaborate. With the exception of missing page numbers. (Actual page count 145) Unsure about the use of directions, (in general, as a personal observation). I'm not sure any director John would love to work with would take kindly to being told where to put or how to use a camera, (Panning, zooming, POV's, and aerial shots)... “Clydell meets a cyber-criminal in jail. On the outside, instead; He robs a bank, deals in counterfeit money, a Russian Mafioso Drug Lord, and an armored car heist on motorcycle.”
FYI, it was Bilal who had the interaction with the Russian mafioso, not Clydell (45-46).
It’s Bonicia on the motorcycle, navigating, not Clydell. (p. 73)
“Bonicia gets pregnant with twins, loses one in child birth and another in a drive-by shooting, participates in the bank robbery, goes to college, becomes a stripper to pay her step-mother's medical bills and their impending eviction, kills a competitor in a drag race, is miraculously identified from the bank video of a disguised person using a Jamaican accent by the same police officer”
Also Moma Parker is not the step mother. She is Bonicia's grandmother. Bonicia's Mother dies during delivery. (pgs. 1-3)
Bonicia never gets to strip, Clydell yanks her from the stage. (pgs. 51-52)
Clydell kills Mears, Bilal’s henchman, not Bonicia. (pgs. 65-66)
Clydell gets Bonicia the money to pay the medical bills and eviction notice. (p. 59, 69)
“The characters, unfortunately, lose their accents, their identities, and their way.”
I’m so sorry you got lost, perhaps a re-read will help you.
I notice you're from ATL. The Dirrty Souf, the old folks haddasayin,
"Nevuh grab the Cow by the tail and yank, you'll just end up with the ass of the story."
Sage words.
Thank you.
