Bio

I was born on Chuck Norris Day in 19 something-or-other. I am a proud father to two wonderful boys and a happy ex-husband to the two women they came from. I was born at 7:31 pm so I was damned to live a life glued to a screen. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I had most of the Hardy Boys collection read by the time I began 3rd grade. I wrote a book report on "The Hobbit" in 6th grade for which I got a 98 out of 100 (I have since never misspelled 'lonely'). The next highest score was an 81. It was one of only a handful of A's I got throughout school.

Overall, this was a reasonably well thought out story. The general theme did fall into what would probably be pitched as The Long Kiss Goodnight meets Kill Bill. The story is quick paced and continues forward momentum without too much of a lull anywhere. Technically, the writing pushed me to the edge of sanity. The constant sentence fragments in the action areas was extremely... read

This is definitely a well intended story. Where the writer is trying to go is clearly evident. There are several technical problems which are too numerous to list. I would recommend doing much more research on what is expected, and taboo, in a spec script. The most important things that strike me are a lack of ANY description for the characters and a lack of distinction between... read

Thanks to everyone behind this film for finally giving us something to watch that doesn't require impossible twisting of our own perceptions to make sense of it. Having grown up in the deep South, I get it. Sadly, this film is frighteningly accurate of mindsets that still exist. The direction was great. Both actors were excellent. The style was (I hate using this term) spot... read

Hey thanks for reviewing Lucidity. Don't worry about giving negative comments, as long as they are constructive, which yours were. After reading the reviews, I now realize that this script needs quite a bit of work, in just the areas that you recommended. I will be posting a re-rewrite sometime in the near future, and I hope that you can review it again!
    Best,
    Alex

Thanks for the high praise. Regarding the subtitles, I constantly go back and forth on that issue (just as I went back and forth in the script). My main problem is the first scene. With a VO already on top of the funeral, I'm afraid subtitles would confuse the audience. Alas, you're probably right about leaving it to post. Regarding the screenplay getting that far, I honestly have no idea. For right now I'm just happy to get some feedback on Trigger.
