Thomas J. Madden is a former Vice President and #2 man at NBC who literally wrote the book on Spin! He’s the author of SPIN MAN, his widely-acclaimed, nationally published memoir. A graduate of Temple University, he earned a Master's in Communications at The Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as a journalist, working as a reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer and was Director of Public Relations for American Broadcasting Companies. From 1979 to 1981, he was Vice President, Assistant to the President of NBC in New York, who was then Fred Silverman. In 1981, he co-founded TransMedia with his wife Angela, which became one of the largest PR firms in Florida. The firm’s clients included AT&T, Bank Leumi, Drexel Burnham Real Estate, Krispy Kreme, Boehringer Ingelheim, Jordache, US Polo Association, Kemin Consumer Care, Cornell University Medical Center, Jackson Memorial Foundation, Fidelity Investments, MetLife, Rexall Sundown, Precision Response Corporation, The City of New York and the countries of Israel and Norway. For his exploits in PR, he has been profiled in Time Magazine, Forbes and The Wall Street Journal. Speeches he wrote have been reprinted in The New York Times and Vital Speeches of the Day. Among awards he has received is a "Bronze Anvil" from The Public Relations Society of America, of which he is an accredited member.
